Abstract

A shielded container for the transport and/or storage of spent fuel elements from nuclear power stations, comprising a container casing, container base and at least one container lid. The interior of the shielded container comprises a plurality of locations for the spent fuel elements. The container lid is provided with at least one closable passage bore. At least one residual moisture adsorber with a molecular sieve is disposed in the interior of the container. The residual moisture adsorber is disposed substantially vertically beneath the passage bore.
