An improved transparent measuring device having composite multicolor image formed thereon using a unique pigment transfer process; the image is formed by first applying a first image having pairs of lines that form an uncolored gap on the plastic sheet; a second image having solid lines is aligned with the first image and applied to the plastic sheet with a contrasting color such that the second image fills in selected gaps; an optional third image can be applied over the first and second images.
