Abstract
An enzyme electrode comprising: (a) an electroconductive support member (ESM) comprising a porous electroconductive layer, (b) an enzyme adsorbed or immobilized onto the surface of said porous layer in an catalytically effective amount, (c) a protecting layer to prevent leaching of said enzyme from the porous layer, containing at least a gelatin, bovine serum protein, poly(vinyl alcohol), poly(epoxy ethane), poly (vinyl pyrrolidone), polyacrylamide and poly (methylacrylic2-hydroxyethylester), and the diameter of its pores is preferably 1 to 50 <mu>m.
