Abstract
A method of forming an optic fiber device having optical characteristics, the method at least comprising the following continuously, substantially concurrently occurring or sequentially independent steps: (a) heating at least a section of at least an optical fiber or optical fiber device by using at least an energy supply source installed at a predetermined distance; (b) drawing said at least one heated optical fiber or optical fiber device with at least one drawing ratio; (c) monitoring at least one optical characteristic of said at least one optical fiber or optical fiber device; (d) responding to the monitoring step (c), controlling the at least one energy and at least one drawing ratio prior to the completion of the method; and (e) responding to the control step (d), producing said at least one optical fiber or optical fiber device.
