Abstract

A multimedia CATV network communication technique comprising (1) CATV video conference protocol, (2) interactive broadband CATV network architecture and terminal device, and (3) CATV communication network security monitoring technique which replaces code-locking encryption or scrambling: (1) CATV video conference protocol: providing a protocol of broadcasting selective delegation convention; a central network controlling the marshaling of all usable CATV channels in the network; any change of channel of a RF modulator (emission) and tuners (expansion) of each user capable of being controlled by the center; the network therefor requiring no switch; (2) interactive broadband CATV network architecture and terminal device: using a central network control (CNC) as the center, the network architecture being a start single line (for cost reduction) or tree double lines (having longer extension distance), the network capable of being a simple coaxial cable system or a combination of an optical fiber trunk line and a coaxial cable branch line; the user requiring basic equipment used in ordinary multimedia communication, such as PC, CCD, camera, microphone, etc., as well as a special combination, I.e. variable channel RF modulator, CATV, tuner, video card and a polling modem; (3) CATV communication network security monitoring technique which replaces code-locking encryption or scrambling: monitoring the conditions of use for all users in the network, including: requesting communication, busy, line break, bugging (viewing), etc., and using a polling protocol and a limited time response for achieving the target.
