Abstract

A method for driving a plasma display unit by using a driver circuit to drive a plasma display, the plasma display unit keeping the display of an image signal by a sustaining charge/discharge, the driver circuit comprising an inductor connected in parallel with two ends of the plasma display unit, a voltage source for charging the plasma display unit and the inductor, a first switch electrically connected between the voltage source and a first end of the plasma display unit, a second switch electrically connected between the first end of the plasma display unit and a ground line, a third switch electrically connected between the voltage source and a second end of the plasma display unit, and a fourth switch electrically connected between the second end of the plasma display unit and the ground line, the first and the second switches all being consisted of a transistor, a parasitic diode being existed between the drain and source of each transistor; in which the first switch and the fourth switch set up the voltage of the current flowing from the voltage source through the inductor to a predetermined value.
