An answer-back messaging apparatus in combination with an one-way message transmission system, in which a primary station transmits a plurality of messages to a plurality of secondary stations on a down-link, each secondary station comprising a tool for transmitting the responses of messages sent to the secondary station on an up-link; the answer-back messaging apparatus comprising a tool for monitoring the messages in the down-link, a tool for recovering the transmission of said or each response on the up-link, and a tool for matching said or each response to the individual messages transmitted on the down-link.
