Abstract
An incomplete combustion prevention device for a gas water heater comprising an inner cylinder skirt, a heat exchanger continuously installed above the inner cylinder skirt, and a burner installed below the inner cylinder skirt; the burner heating the water supplied in the heat exchanger; which is characterized in comprising a flame probe installed above a portion of the flame openings of the burner and located in the flames generated by the flame openings under normal combustion status, a combustion controller for applying a voltage to the flame probe and detecting the flame current flowing through the flame probe and closing the electromagnetic fuel gas valve supplying fuel gas to the burner when the flame current is below a threshold value, and a circulation pipe the upper end of which being located on the upper opening of the inner cylinder skirt below the heat exchanger and the lower portion of which having an exhaust return pipe facing the openings where the flame probe is located; the circulation pipe comprising a main pipe generally extending vertically downward from the upper end, a large diameter pipe in communication with the lower end of the main pipe and the lower end of which being on the outside of the inner cylinder skirt and open, and a return pipe branched out near the connection place between the main pipe and the large diameter pipe.
