Abstract

A communication system for simultaneous communication of voice, data and video bandwidth signals over a communication network in which signals are transported in a downstream direction from a remote node to a regional gateway system and also transported upstream from the regional gateway system to the remote node, which comprise: (a) a first coupling circuit at the remote node for connecting individual voice, data and video bandwidth signals to individual first voice, downstream and upstream channels of a medium; (b) a second coupling circuit at the local node for connecting individual voice, data and video bandwidth signals to individual second voice, downstream and upstream channels of the medium.
