Abstract
A process of continuously producing ABS series resin, which comprises using a continuous block polymerization, a continuous solution polymerization or a continuous block polymerization and continuous solution polymerization, in the presence of 4-50 weight part of a rubbery polymer, polymerizing 100 weight part of monomer components comprised of styrenic monomers and acrylonitrile series monomers, or monomers thereof and vinylic monomers copolymerizable with at least one of the monomers thereof, in which the copolymer of the monomer components forms a continuous phase and the particles of the rubbery polymer form a dispersed phase, which is characterized in that: (1) the process comprises two sub-processes in which the particles of the rubbery polymer form in the first sub-process and the second sub-process is a particle size adjustment sub-process; (2) the first sub-process for forming the particles is carried out in a plug-flow reactor or a batch reactor to form the particles of the rubbery polymer in a polymerization process; (3) the second sub-process for particle size adjustment is carried out by making the conversion rate of the monomers to the polymer to be higher than the formation rate of the particles and making the particles size of the rubbery polymer to become smaller.
