Abstract

A tin catalyst obtained by reacting: (a) 1 mole of at least one organotin compound and (b) 0.5 to 4 moles of at least one orthophosphate monoester and/or orthophosphoric acid and (c) 0 to 2 moles of other phosphate ester(s) and (d) 0 to 5 moles of an alkoxysilane or several alkoxysilanes, in which the organotin compound is a compound of the formula (I): (I) where n=1,2 or 3, R1 = linear or branched C1-C30 alkyl, C5-C14 cycloalkyl or C6-C14 aryl, and X = halogen, -OR1, -OC(O)R1, -OH, -SR1, -NR12, -HNR1, -OSiR13, -OSi(OR1)3 and/or compound(s) of the general formulae R12SnX^, R13SnX^1-2 and/or R1SnX^3/2, in which X^ = o, S; the orthophosphate monoester and/or orthophosphoric acid are compounds of the following formula: (II) where m = 2 or 3, R2 = linear or branched C1-C30 alkyl, C2-C30 alkenyl or alkoxyalkyl, C5-C14 cycloalkyl or C6-C14 aryl or tri-organomethylsilane or bi-organoalkoxysilane; R3 = hydrogen and/or a metal, preferably an alkali metal or alkaline-earth metal; and/or (III) x can be a value of from 1 to 3, R5 = C1-C30 alkyl and (CH2)zSi(OR6)3, in which z = 1-10, preferably 3, and a+b+c=3, in which a can be 1 to 3, b can be 0 to 2, c can be 0 to 2; R6 = C1-C5 alkyl, C2-C6 alkylalkoxyl and/or an ester of a polyphosphoric acid; and the component (d) is a silicate ester, organo-tri-alkoxy-silane and/or a partial hydrolysis compound thereof.
