Abstract

A method for wrapping a product (P) in a wrapper of sheet material, which comprises the following steps: - providing a first sheet (1) and a second sheet (2) of a wrapping material; - forming the first sheet (1) into a generally hollow shape for containing a product (P); - under all conditions, inserting the product (P) into the hollow portion of the first sheet (1) so that the first sheet (1) covers different parts of the product (P); - applying the second sheet (2) on the portions of the product (P) which are not covered by the first sheet (1) such that the second sheet (2) and each part of the product (P) form a complementary first shape; - connecting the first sheet (1) and the second sheet (2) to form an axial ring (10) surrounding the product (P) and extending therefrom to form a wrapper, the wrapper substantially surrounding the product (P) per se and adhering thereto, and - further forming the axial ring (10) to fold it adhering to the product (P), which is characterized in that the first sheet (1) and the second sheet (2) connect together to form an axial ring (10) along a frusco-conical surface.
