Abstract

A peritoneal dialysis system for performing peritoneal dialysis on a patient which comprises: (a) a liquid pump actuated by a hydraulic pressure to cause a liquid to flow in and out of the peritoneal cavity of a patient; (b) a liquid duct of an in-and-out pump to supply liquid to operate the liquid pump; (c) a vacuum source to supply a negative pressure to the liquid pump; (d) a positively-directed pressure source to supply a positively-directed positive pressure to the duct and to the liquid pump; (e) a liquid distribution system, which comprises a flow proportional valve to control the liquid flowrate and, through the liquid pressure on the liquid duct separately from the pressure source and the vacuum source, to operate the liquid pump to cause the liquid to be pumped in and out of the peritoneal cavity.
