Abstract

A portable hand-held cleaning device comprising: a body comprising, a gripping handle which at least partially forms an inner compartment in which a power source is located, and; a housing connected to said handle and in which is located a cleaning head comprising a drive motor which imparts drive via a gear train to a drive member which detachably receives a rotatable cleaning element; said body further comprising a gas control facility, for neutralizing the effect of or facilitating the escape of unwanted gases generated by said power source in and/or around said inner compartment; wherein the body is sealed to limit or prevent ingress therein of water or other liquid or particulate contaminants.
