Abstract

An image processing apparatus,used to output three-dimensional position information of each target object , consists of the features: (1) Range image generator , used to generate range image of loaded multiple objects; (2) The most top region extractor , used to extract the most top plane region of the most top object from range image; (3) The most top alternate object extractor, used to extract each object separately from the most top region; (4) Object dimension database, used to contain dimension data of recognized target object; (5) Two-dimensional base pattern generator, used to generate standard pattern image of object two-dimensional image according to object dimension data; (6) Original gray image container, used to contain original gray image input from camera; (7) Object position detector, to the above most top alternate object extracted individually, used to detect object position by using information of the above two-dimensional base pattern and the above original gray image; (8) Information integrator, used to integrate the detected result of object position got from the above each device and range information of each object got from the above range image generator.
