Abstract

A vibration diagnosis method for crack & breakdown of roller includesfollowing steps: (a) Measure the vibration signal of roller; (b) Check the amplitude of vibrating signal, if less the then critical value, the roller is normal and ending diagnosis; (c) Check the peak rate of vibration signal, if greater than 4.5, proceeding step (h); (d) Use frequency-spectrum transfer to get central frequency of vibration; (e) Check the central frequency, if less than the bottom limit, the bearing set is loosed and end; (f) Check the central frequency, if greater than upper limit, the bearing is wore out and end; (g) Vindicating the common effecting of bearing set loosed & bearing wore out and end; (h) Use envelop spectrum to find repeated frequency of impulsive pulse; (i) Check the repeated frequency, if equal to wearing characteristic frequency of transmitting gear, the gear is wore out and end; (j) Check the repeated frequency, if equal to the damaging characteristic frequency of gear then vindicating the gear is damaged and end; (k) Vindicate the other reason to cause the crack & breakdown of roller & end.
