Abstract

An intelligent missive document processing system comprises: one system control unit as bridge of unit integration and data transfer in system, features four functions: filtering noise in document image sent from data input unit and converting it to connected component; sending connected component data of pre-processing unit to table processing unit; sending text image generated by table processing unit to text recognition unit; sending table file generated by table processing unit and text file generated by text recognition unit to output unit to display or save; one data input unit for converting document into digital image to feed pre-processing unit; one pre-processing unit for removing noise in document image sent from data input unit, and converting document image into connected component; one table processing unit for extract table features with connected component sent from pre-processing unit as basis, and one by one matching all features of table feature database stored in computer to confirm if the document table is a new one, if yes, then outputting its table feature file and table image file to output unit, and transmitting text block of context to text recognition unit, if not, then only transmitting text block of context to text recognition unit; one text recognition unit for recognizing text block in table context sent from table processing unit, and properly transmitting the result or converting; and one output unit for receiving table image file sent from table processing unit and text file sent form text recognition unit, then storing it, and combining table image file and text file to be converted as one missive document entity for printing or displaying.
