Abstract
A color space conversion method with symmetric coding, which could implement the conversion between the natural color space R, G, B and luminance/chrominance space Y, Cb, Cr, includes: 1. supplying a equation: 3 POn=sum(Cnm(PIm-128))+128, n=1, 2, 3 m=1 in which m = 1 the color space constituted by PIm is called original space, i.e., PIm is one color component of original space; the color space constituted by POn is called converted space, i.e., POn is color component of original space; Cnm is the coefficient of the n-th color of converted space with respect to the m-th color of original space; 2. when PO1, PO2, PO3 individually represent Y, Cb, Cr component of YCbCr space, PI1, PI2, PI3 individually represent R, G, B component of RGB space; 3. when PO1, PO2, PO3 individually represent R, G, B component of RGB space, PI1, PI2, PI3 individually represent Y, Cb, Cr component of YCbCr space; 4. making each color component PIm of original space represent odd function symmetric distribution with constant 128 as center in conversion relationship; 5. coding PIm with 2's complement based on the multiplication of |PIm-128| and corresponding coefficient Cnm except 128(forcing its value to 0 when output); 6. mapping the symmetric PIm value to same coding address, remaining 0 to its coding address, 128 to the same address with 0; 7. when output, recovering the polarity of Cnm(PIm-128) with respect to Cnm|PIm-128|, conducting polarity reverting if PIm < 128, maintaining same polarity if PIm > 128, forcing output 0 value if PIm = 128.
