Abstract
A non-mechanical camera shutter and aperture application method andapparatus consists of: 1. choosing one of the operation modes as below by user; (1) automatic operation mode: first executing the detection of film ASA sensitivity or setting, then from the detected light luminance to decide an appropriate bias voltage applied to liquid crystal and transformation period; (2) dual operation mode: first executing the detection of film ASA sensitivity or setting, then selecting the setting of shutter or aperture by user to decide an appropriate bias voltage applied to liquid crystal and transformation period; (3) manual operation mode: from the setting of shutter and aperture by user to decide an appropriate bias voltage applied to liquid crystal and transformation period; 2. according to the applied bias voltage decided by the chosen operationmode to change the light transmission ratio of liquid crystal as theaction of camera shutter; according to the transformation period ofapplied electric field decided by the chosen operation mode to changethe light transmission time of liquid crystal as the action of cameraaperture.
