Abstract
One type of charging device with variable speed for Ni-Cd or Ni-H batteryis claimed. In the process of charging the energy of battery can be shownon the LCD of charging device. On the end of auto charging the aging degreeof battery is shown and according to the rest energy of battery, thedynamic maximum charging time is calculated to prevent it from over-charged.It features that one chip of microprocessor and EEPROM are packed withbattery together. By use of the battery power the microprocessor keepscalculating the energy of charging and feeding, the power consumption ofmicroprocessor and the discharging of battery. From the current chargingstate of battery collected by microprocessor and the parameters about thebattery features and charging strategy set up in EEPROM, the microprocessorinforms the permitted charging degree and energy of the system through theserial port. By considering the conditions such as if the system is on andthe temperature, the system decides the value of charging current and showthe receiving energy on the LCD to achieve the effects of precise displayof battery energy.
