Abstract
A waveform controller which controls the voltage waveform across an inductive load, comprises: - Driver amplifier whose output is coupled to the inductive load; - Varistor which is also coupled to the inductive load; - Sensor amplifier whose input is connected to the inductive load and output is coupled to the varistor. On a certain operation mode, the driver amplifier drives the voltage across the inductive load from a large non-zero level to zero, and the sensor amplifier adjusts the varistor to maintain the voltage drop across the varistor at a very small but non-zero offset value in a predetermined time period.
