This invention relates to copolymers derived from (a) monomers selected from the group consisting of (C1-C24) alkylmethacrylates and (C1-C24) alkyl acrylates and (b) a monomer selected from the group consisting of hydroxy (C2-C6)alkyl methacrylates and hydroxy(C2-C6)alkyl acrylates in which the number of carbon atoms in the alkyl groups averages from about 7 to about 12. These polymers are useful as additives to lubricating oils for providing viscosity index improvement, dispersancy and low temperature fluidity properties without adversely affecting fluoropolymer seals and gaskets.
