Abstract

An electronic device with multiple display panels includes an electronic device has a base and a main screen connected to the base. The electronic device has a first front face and a first back face located on the opposite side of the first front face. The first face is facing the base and the main screen is located on the first face. An extend screen has a display panel and a frame body accommodating the display panel. The extend screen has a second front face and a second back face on the opposite side of the second front face. The display panel is located on the second front face. A rotating shaft structure is arranged between a side of the main screen that is not connected to the base and the frame body of the extended screen to combine the extend screen to the side of the main screen and enable the extend screen to rotate relative to the main screen.

Description

Multi-screen electronic devices

The present invention mainly relates to an electronic device, and more particularly to a multi-screen electronic device having a main screen and an extended screen.

With the rapid development of computer equipment and the Internet, laptops have become an indispensable office equipment for many business people at work. For example, stock traders, art designers, novelists, and programmers all complete their work through laptops.

However, as current laptops are designed to be thin, light and small, the built-in display screens of the laptops are often small in size, that is, the working area available for user operation in the display screen is relatively insufficient, causing many inconveniences for the users in completing their work.

Please refer to FIG. 1 , in order to solve the above problem, a conventional external screen 9 is fixedly coupled to the back panel of the main screen M of the notebook computer through its support frame 91, and then a signal line 93 on an extended screen 92 disposed on the support frame 91 is connected to the notebook computer. In this way, computer objects such as software programs, videos, pictures or browser windows can be moved between the main screen M and the extended screen 92.

However, the above-mentioned known external screen 9 is fixedly connected to the notebook computer by the support frame 91, which increases the burden on the hinge structure (torsion spring Hinge) between the main screen M and the base of the notebook computer and reduces the life of the hinge structure. Furthermore, the messy signal cable 93 is also easy to cause visual confusion to the user.

In view of this, it is necessary to provide a multi-screen electronic device to solve the above problems.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a multi-screen electronic device that can be connected to the main screen side of an electronic device through a hinged manner.

The present invention provides a multi-screen electronic device, comprising: an electronic device having a base and a main screen connected to the base, the electronic device having a first front side and a first back side located on the opposite side of the first front side, the first front side faces the base, and the main screen is located on the first front side; at least one extended screen having a display panel and a frame body accommodating the display panel, the extended screen having a second front side and a second back side located on the opposite side of the second front side, and the display panel is located on the second front side; and at least one rotating shaft structure is arranged between at least one side of the main screen not connected to the base and the frame body of the at least one extended screen, so as to combine the at least one extended screen with the side side of the main screen and enable the at least one extended screen to rotate relative to the main screen.

In some embodiments, the number of the extended screen and the hinge structure is one, and the extended screen is coupled to one side of the main screen not connected to the base through the hinge structure, so that the second front side of the extended screen and the first front side of the electronic device face the same direction.

In some embodiments, the number of the extended screen and the hinge structure is one, the extended screen is coupled to one side of the main screen not connected to the base via the hinge structure, and the extended screen is flipped backward relative to the main screen via the hinge structure so that the second front side of the extended screen faces away from the first back side of the electronic device.

In some embodiments, the number of the extended screen and the number of the hinge structure are both one, the extended screen is coupled to one side of the main screen that is not connected to the base via the hinge structure, the extended screen is flipped forward relative to the main screen via the hinge structure so that the second front side of the extended screen faces the first front side of the electronic device, and the main screen is pivoted toward the base so that the main screen, the extended screen and the base are stacked in sequence.

In some embodiments, the size of the extended screen matches the size of the main screen.

In some embodiments, there are two extended screens and two hinge structures, and the size of each extended screen is half the size of the main screen. The two extended screens are respectively connected to the left and right sides of the main screen that are not connected to the base through corresponding hinge structures, so that the second front sides of the two extended screens face the same direction as the first front side of the electronic device.

In some embodiments, there are two extended screens and two rotating shaft structures, and the size of each extended screen is half the size of the main screen. The two extended screens are respectively connected to the left and right sides of the main screen that are not connected to the base through corresponding rotating shaft structures, so that the second front side of one of the extended screens faces the same direction as the first front side of the electronic device, and the other extended screen is flipped backward relative to the main screen through the corresponding rotating shaft structure, so that the second front side of the other extended screen faces away from the first back side of the electronic device.

In some embodiments, there are two extended screens and two rotating shaft structures, and the size of each extended screen is half the size of the main screen. The two extended screens are respectively connected to the left and right sides of the main screen that are not connected to the base through corresponding rotating shaft structures. The two extended screens are respectively flipped backward relative to the main screen through the corresponding rotating shaft structures, so that the second front sides of the two extended screens are facing away from the first back side of the electronic device.

In some embodiments, there are two extension screens and two hinge structures, and the size of each extension screen is half the size of the main screen. The two extension screens are respectively connected to the left and right sides of the main screen that are not connected to the base through corresponding hinge structures. The two extension screens are respectively flipped forward relative to the main screen through corresponding hinge structures, so that the second front sides of the two extension screens are facing away from the first front side of the electronic device. The main screen is pivoted toward the base, so that the main screen, the two extension screens and the base are stacked in sequence.

The multi-screen electronic device of the present invention has the following characteristics: the extension screen can be directly coupled to the side of the main screen of the electronic device through the rotating shaft structure, and the extension screen can be flipped relative to the main screen. In this way, a large external supporting structure can be discarded, which has the effect of reducing weight and extending the life of the hinge structure between the main screen and the base of the electronic device.

The embodiments of the present invention are described in detail with reference to the drawings. The attached drawings are mainly simplified schematic diagrams, which only illustrate the basic structure of the present invention in a schematic manner. Therefore, only the components related to the present invention are marked in the drawings, and the components shown are not drawn in the number, shape, size ratio, etc. during implementation. The specifications and dimensions during actual implementation are actually a selective design, and the layout of the components may be more complicated.

The following descriptions of the embodiments refer to the attached drawings to illustrate specific embodiments in which the present invention can be implemented. The directional terms mentioned in the present invention, such as "upper", "lower", "front", "back", etc., are only with reference to the directions of the attached drawings. Therefore, the directional terms used are used to illustrate and understand the present application, rather than to limit the present application. In addition, in the specification, unless explicitly described to the contrary, the word "comprising" will be understood to mean including the elements described, but not excluding any other elements.

Please refer to FIG. 2 , which is a preferred embodiment of the multi-screen electronic device of the present invention, comprising: an electronic device 1 , at least one extended screen 2 and at least one rotating shaft structure 3 , wherein the rotating shaft structure 3 is located between the electronic device 1 and the extended screen 2 .

The electronic device 1 has a base 11 and a main screen 12, wherein the base 11 has a housing, the housing is assembled with a motherboard, and a central processing unit electrically connected to the motherboard, at least one memory, at least one hard disk, and an input device (e.g., a keyboard or a touch panel). The main screen 12 can be connected to the base 11 through a hinge structure (not shown). In this embodiment, the electronic device 1 is a notebook computer, and the main screen 12 can be a touch screen, but is not limited thereto.

The electronic device 1 further has a first front surface 13 and a first back surface 14 located on an opposite side of the first front surface 13 . The first front surface 13 faces the base 11 , and the main screen 12 is located on the first front surface 13 .

3 , a protrusion 15 is provided on the periphery of the main screen 12. The protrusion 15 is preferably provided on the periphery of the main screen 12, that is, on the side opposite to the side where the main screen 12 is connected to the base 11. The protrusion 15 extends from the first back surface 14 toward the first front surface 13, and there is a height difference between the protrusion 15 and the main screen 12.

2, the extended screen 2 has a display panel 21 and a frame 22, wherein the display panel 21 can be a touch screen, but is not limited thereto. The frame 22 accommodates the display panel 21. The extended screen 2 also has a second front surface 23 and a second back surface 24 located on the opposite side of the second front surface 23, and the display panel 21 is located on the second front surface 23.

The rotating shaft structure 3 is disposed between at least one side of the main screen 12 that is not connected to the base 11 and the frame 22 of the extended screen 2 to couple the extended screen 2 to the side of the main screen 12 and allow the extended screen 2 to rotate relative to the main screen 12. In this embodiment, the extending direction of the rotating shaft of the rotating shaft structure 3 is substantially perpendicular to the long side direction of the main screen 12, and the rotating shaft structure 3 belongs to the common knowledge in the technical field of the present invention and will not be described in detail herein.

It is worth noting that the signal line connecting the extended screen 2 to the electronic device 1 is located in the housing of the shaft structure 3 so that the signal line will not be exposed to the outside, which is within the technical field of the present invention and can be understood by those with ordinary knowledge.

Specifically, when the multi-screen electronic device of the present invention is in an extended screen mode, if the number of the extended screen 2 and the number of the hinge structure 3 are both one, preferably, the size of the extended screen 2 matches the size of the main screen 12. The extended screen 2 is coupled to one side of the main screen 12 not connected to the base 11 through the hinge structure 3, so that the second front side 22 of the extended screen 2 and the first front side 13 of the electronic device 1 face the same direction.

On the other hand, if the number of the extension screen 2 and the number of the rotation shaft structure 3 are both two, preferably, the size of each extension screen 2 is half the size of the main screen 12. The two extension screens 2 are respectively connected to the left and right sides of the main screen 12 not connected to the base 11 through the corresponding rotation shaft structure 3, so that the second front surfaces 22 of the two extension screens 2 and the first front surface 13 of the electronic device 1 face the same direction.

2 and 4 , when the multi-screen electronic device of the present invention switches from the extended screen mode to an extended and shared mode, the number of the extended screen 2 and the number of the rotating shaft structure 3 are both two. Preferably, the size of each extended screen 2 is half the size of the main screen 12. The two extended screens 2 are respectively connected to the left and right sides of the main screen 12 not connected to the base 11 through the corresponding rotating shaft structure 3. The second front side 23 of one of the extended screens 2 faces the same direction as the first front side 13 of the electronic device 1, and the other extended screen 2 is flipped backward relative to the main screen 12 through the corresponding hinge structure 3, so that the second front side 23 of the other extended screen 2 faces away from the first back side 14 of the electronic device 1, that is, the second back side 24 of each extended screen 2 faces the first back side 14 of the electronic device 1; more specifically, the second back side 24 of each extended screen 2 abuts against the first back side 14 of the electronic device 1. In this way, the extended screen 2 can be reserved for use as an extended screen of the main screen 12, and the screen can be shared with the user facing the other extended screen 2 at the same time.

2 and 5 , when the multi-screen electronic device of the present invention switches from the extended screen mode to a pure sharing mode, if the number of the extended screen 2 and the number of the rotating shaft structure 3 are both one, preferably, the size of the extended screen 2 matches the size of the main screen 12 . The extended screen 2 is coupled to one side of the main screen 12 not connected to the base 11 through the hinge structure 3. The extended screen 12 is flipped backward relative to the main screen 12 through the hinge structure 3, so that the second front side 23 of the extended screen 2 faces away from the first back side 14 of the electronic device 1, that is, the second back side 24 of the extended screen 2 faces the first back side 14 of the electronic device 1; more specifically, the second back side 24 of the extended screen 2 abuts against the first back side 14 of the electronic device 1. In this way, the screen can be shared with the user facing the extended screen 2.

On the other hand, if the number of the extension screen 2 and the number of the hinge structure 3 are both two, preferably, the size of each extension screen 2 is half the size of the main screen 12. The two extension screens 2 are respectively flipped backward relative to the main screen 12 through the corresponding hinge structure 3, so that the second front faces 23 of the two extension screens 2 are facing away from the first back face 14 of the electronic device 1, that is, the second back face 24 of each extension screen 2 faces the first back face 14 of the electronic device 1; more preferably, the second back face 24 of each extension screen 2 abuts against the first back face 14 of the electronic device 1. In this way, the screen can be shared with the users facing the two extension screens 2.

2, 3 and 6, when the multi-screen electronic device of the present invention switches from the extended screen mode to a tablet mode, if the number of the extended screen 2 and the number of the hinge structure 3 are both one, preferably, the size of the extended screen 2 matches the size of the main screen 12. The extended screen 2 is coupled to one side of the main screen 12 that is not connected to the base 11 through the hinge structure 3. The extended screen 2 is flipped forward relative to the main screen 12 through the hinge structure 3, so that the second front surface 23 of the extended screen 2 faces the first front surface 13 of the electronic device 1. The main screen 12 pivots toward the base 11, so that the main screen 12, the extended screen 2 and the base 11 are stacked in sequence, so that the user can carry and use the device when going out.

On the other hand, if the number of the extension screen 2 and the number of the rotation shaft structure 3 are both two, preferably, the size of each extension screen 2 is half the size of the main screen 12. The two extension screens 2 are respectively connected to the left and right sides of the main screen 12 that are not connected to the base 11 through the corresponding rotation shaft structure 3. The two extension screens 2 are respectively flipped forward relative to the main screen 12 through the corresponding rotation shaft structure 3, so that the second front side 23 of each of the two extension screens 2 faces away from the first front side 13 of the electronic device 1. The main screen 12 is pivoted toward the base 11, so that the main screen 12, the two extension screens 2 and the base 11 are stacked in sequence, so that the user can carry and use them when going out.

As mentioned above, the multi-screen electronic device of the present invention can directly connect the extension screen to the side of the main screen of the electronic device through the hinge structure, and the extension screen can be flipped relative to the main screen. In this way, a large external supporting structure can be discarded, which has the effect of reducing weight and extending the life of the hinge structure between the main screen and the base of the electronic device.

Claims (10)

A multi-screen electronic device, comprising: an electronic device having a base and a main screen connected to the base, the electronic device having a first front face and a first back face located on the opposite side of the first front face, the first front face faces the base, and the main screen is located on the first front face; at least one extended screen having a display panel and a frame for accommodating the display panel, the extended screen having a second front face and a second back face located on the opposite side of the second front face, the display panel is located on the second front face; and At least one rotating shaft structure is disposed between at least one side of the main screen that is not connected to the base and the frame of the at least one extended screen, so as to connect the at least one extended screen to the side of the main screen and enable the at least one extended screen to rotate relative to the main screen. The multi-screen electronic device as described in claim 1, wherein a protrusion is provided on the periphery of the main screen, the protrusion extends from the first back surface toward the first front surface, and there is a height difference between the protrusion and the main screen. A multi-screen electronic device as described in claim 1, wherein the number of the extended screen and the hinge structure is only one, and the extended screen is connected to one side of the main screen that is not connected to the base through the hinge structure, so that the second front side of the extended screen and the first front side of the electronic device face the same direction. A multi-screen electronic device as described in claim 1, wherein the number of the extended screen and the hinge structure are both one, the extended screen is coupled to one side of the main screen that is not connected to the base via the hinge structure, and the extended screen is flipped backward relative to the main screen via the hinge structure so that the second front side of the extended screen faces away from the first back side of the electronic device. A multi-screen electronic device as described in claim 1, wherein the number of the extended screen and the number of the hinge structure are both one, the extended screen is coupled to one side of the main screen that is not connected to the base via the hinge structure, the extended screen is flipped forward relative to the main screen via the hinge structure so that the second front side of the extended screen faces the first front side of the electronic device, and the main screen is pivoted toward the base so that the main screen, the extended screen and the base are stacked in sequence. A multi-screen electronic device as described in any one of claims 3 to 5, wherein the size of the extended screen matches the size of the main screen. A multi-screen electronic device as described in claim 1, wherein the number of the extended screen and the hinge structure are both two, the size of each extended screen is half the size of the main screen, and the two extended screens are respectively connected to the left and right sides of the main screen that are not connected to the base through corresponding hinge structures, so that the second front sides of the two extended screens and the first front side of the electronic device face the same direction. A multi-screen electronic device as described in claim 1, wherein the number of the extended screens and the hinge structure are both two, the size of each extended screen is half the size of the main screen, and the two extended screens are respectively connected to the left and right sides of the main screen that are not connected to the base through corresponding hinge structures, so that the second front side of one of the extended screens faces the same direction as the first front side of the electronic device, and the other extended screen is flipped backward relative to the main screen through the corresponding hinge structure, so that the second front side of the other extended screen faces away from the first back side of the electronic device. A multi-screen electronic device as described in claim 1, wherein the number of the extended screens and the hinge structure are both two, the size of each extended screen is half the size of the main screen, the two extended screens are respectively connected to the left and right sides of the main screen that are not connected to the base through corresponding hinge structures, and the two extended screens are respectively flipped backwards relative to the main screen through corresponding hinge structures so that the second front sides of the two extended screens are respectively facing away from the first back side of the electronic device. A multi-screen electronic device as described in claim 1, wherein the number of the extended screens and the hinge structure are both two, the size of each extended screen is half the size of the main screen, the two extended screens are respectively connected to the left and right sides of the main screen that are not connected to the base through corresponding hinge structures, the two extended screens are respectively flipped forward relative to the main screen through corresponding hinge structures, so that the second front sides of the two extended screens are respectively facing away from the first front side of the electronic device, and the main screen is pivoted toward the base, so that the main screen, the two extended screens and the base are stacked in sequence.
