Description

Luminous touch module

This disclosure relates to a light-emitting touch module.

The appearance of traditional touch panel devices is usually dull and dull, so computer peripheral manufacturers have developed light-emitting touch modules with excellent visual effects. The conventional light-emitting touch module is composed of two major components, from top to bottom, a light shielding sheet and a light guide plate.

As functions continue to increase, the markings on the light-emitting touch modules become more and more complex. If these button icons only share the same light guide plate, they will not be able to independently display or label a single button icon. In order to make each button icon on the light-emitting touch module emit light independently, it is generally necessary to set a light source directly below each button icon, which is a direct-light-emitting design. However, this direct-light emitting design requires a fixed light mixing distance to emit uniform light. However, the light mixing distance will cause the thickness of the light-emitting touch module to be unable to be reduced, and at the same time reduce the sensitivity of the touch sensor.

Therefore, how to propose a light-emitting touch module that can solve the above problems is one of the problems that the industry is currently eager to invest in research and development resources to solve.

The light guide plate has a light guide pattern formed by a plurality of microstructures and has a light incident surface. The light-emitting element is arranged on the circuit board and has a light-emitting surface facing the light-incident surface and a light-guiding pattern. The cover plate covers the light guide plate and the light shielding sheet.

In one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the light guide pattern is separated from the opening of the notch by a first distance. The light guide pattern is separated from the light emitting element by a second distance. The second distance is greater than the first distance.

In one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the light-shielding sheet has a light-blocking portion on one side of the opening of the notch.

In one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the light shielding member further extends to a surface of the circuit board away from the cover plate.

In one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the light-shielding sheet is bonded to the circuit board through an adhesive layer and separated from the substrate.

In one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the light-shielding sheet further has an airway communication gap to the side.

In one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, the airway extends from the notch to the side in a curved manner.

To sum up, in the light-emitting touch module of the present disclosure, the first light-emitting element and the second light-emitting element respectively emit light toward the first light guide area and the second light guide area of the light guide plate. Furthermore, the light guide plate is embedded in the hollow part or the notch of the light shielding sheet, and the light shielding part of the light shielding sheet is disposed between the first light guide area and the second light guide area. Thereby, the light-shielding portion of the light-shielding sheet can separate the light emitted by the first light-emitting element and the second light-emitting element without interfering with each other, so that the first pattern and the second pattern on the cover plate can be displayed independently. In some embodiments, at least one of the first light-emitting element and the second light-emitting element is disposed on the wall of the hollow part and configured to emit light toward the light-isolating part, or is disposed on the wall of the light-isolating part and configured to emit light away from the light-isolating part. . In some embodiments, the light guide plate has a connection portion at two ends respectively connected to the first light guide area and the second light guide area, and the connection portion has a bending portion. In this way, the light emitted by the first light-emitting element must go through more than two turns to reach the second light guide area, or the light emitted by the second light-emitting element must go through more than two turns before it can reach the first light guide area, so that it can This further ensures that the light emitted by the first light-emitting element and the second light-emitting element do not interfere with each other. Moreover, compared with scattered light guide blocks, this embodiment uses a connecting portion to connect the first light guide area and the second light guide area, which can facilitate the assembly and alignment of the light guide plate.

Please refer to FIG. 1 , which is a perspective view of an electronic device 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1 , in this embodiment, the electronic device 100 includes a host 110 , a display 120 and a light-emitting touch module 130 . The light-emitting touch module 130 is an input device provided on the host 110, but the invention is not limited thereto. In practical applications, the light-emitting touch module 130 can also be an electronic product that uses a touch panel as an input or operation interface (for example, a personal digital assistant, a keyboard including a touch panel, etc.). In other words, the concept of the light-emitting touch module of the present invention can be applied to any electronic product that uses a touch panel as an input or operation interface. The structure and function of some components included in the light-emitting touch module 130 as well as the connection and operating relationship between these components will be described in detail below.

Please refer to Picture 2 and Picture 3. Figure 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a light-emitting touch module 130 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 3 is a front view of the light shielding sheet 132 and the light guide plate 135 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 , in this embodiment, the light-emitting touch module 130 is exposed through the opening of the housing of the host 110 . Circuit board 137 may include touch circuitry. The light-emitting touch module 130 includes a reflective sheet 131, a light-shielding sheet 132, a first light-emitting element 133, a second light-emitting element 134 and a light guide plate 135. The reflective sheet 131 is disposed on the circuit board 137 and has a first through hole 131a and a second through hole 131b. The light-shielding sheet 132 is disposed on the reflective sheet 131 and has a hollow portion 132a. The hollow portion 132a has a closed contour. The first light-emitting element 133 and the second light-emitting element 134 are disposed on the circuit board 137, respectively accommodated in the first through hole 131a and the second through hole 131b of the reflective sheet 131, and located in the hollow portion 132a of the light shielding sheet 132. The light guide plate 135 is embedded in the hollow portion 132a. The first light-emitting element 133 and the second light-emitting element 134 are configured to emit light laterally toward the light guide plate 135 . Since the light guide plate 135 is embedded in the hollow portion 132a with a closed outline (meaning that the light shielding sheet 132 completely surrounds the outer edge of the light guide plate 135), the light transmitted in the light guide plate 135 will be blocked when it reaches the outer edge of the light guide plate 135. The light-shielding sheet 132 blocks light without leaking. Since the reflective sheet 131 is provided at the bottom of the light guide plate 135, it can be ensured that the light transmitted in the light guide plate 135 is only emitted from the top surface of the light guide plate 135.

As shown in FIG. 2 , in this embodiment, the thickness of the light-shielding sheet 132 is greater than the thickness of the light guide plate 135 , the height of the first light-emitting element 133 and the height of the second light-emitting element 134 . Thereby, the light transmitted in the light guide plate 135 can be further prevented from leaking laterally.

In detail, the light guide plate 135 includes a first light guide area 135a and a second light guide area 135b. The first light guide area 135a has a first light uniform area 135a1 and a first light emitting area 135a2. The first light-emitting element 133 and the first light-emitting area 135a2 are laterally located on opposite sides of the first uniform light area 135a1. The second light guide area 135b has a second light uniform area 135b1 and a second light emitting area 135b2. The second light-emitting element 134 and the second light-emitting area 135b2 are laterally located on opposite sides of the second light-uniforming area 135b1. Thereby, the light emitted by the first light-emitting element 133 can be uniformly mixed in the first uniform light area 135a1, and then transferred to the first light emitting area 135a2 for light emitting. Similarly, the light emitted by the second light emitting element 134 can be uniformly mixed in the second uniform light area 135b1 and then transferred to the second light emitting area 135b2 for light emitting. It should be noted here that the hot spot phenomenon is the area with the strongest brightness in front of the light source (such as a light emitting diode). When it appears on the light incident surface of the light guide plate, there will be obvious bright lines or arc problems, resulting in The overall light effect has obvious contrast between light and dark and uneven brightness. Therefore, in this embodiment, uniform light can be achieved by allowing the light emitted by the first light-emitting element 133 and the second light-emitting element 134 to undergo multiple total reflections in the first uniform light area 135a1 and the second light uniformity area 135b1 respectively. Effect.

As shown in Figure 2, in this embodiment, the first light emitting area 135a2 and the second light emitting area 135b2 respectively have a first light guide pattern GP1 and a second light guide pattern GP2 formed by a plurality of microstructures. In addition, the light-emitting touch module 130 further includes a cover plate 136 disposed above the light guide plate 135 and the light shielding sheet 132 . A reflective layer 136a is provided on the side of the cover 136 facing the light guide plate 135 . The reflective layer 136a can vertically correspond to the first light-emitting element 133 and the second light-emitting element 134 and part of the light guide plate 135 to reflect upward scattered light back to the light guide plate 135, thereby increasing the utilization rate of light. The cover 136 further has a light-transmissive first pattern P1 and a second pattern P2 that vertically correspond to the first light guide pattern GP1 and the second light guide pattern GP2 respectively. With this structural configuration, the light transmitted to the first light emitting area 135a2 will be reflected upward by the first light guide pattern GP1, and then leave the cover 136 through the first pattern P1 of the cover 136, so that the user can clearly The luminous first pattern P1 is identified. Similarly, the light transmitted to the second light emitting area 135b2 will be reflected upward by the second light guide pattern GP2, and then leave the cover 136 through the first and second patterns of the cover 136, so that the user can clearly identify the light emitting area. The second graphic P2. In some embodiments, on the side of the cover plate 136 facing the light guide plate 135, the reflective layer 136a covers the area except the first pattern P1 and the second pattern P2 to increase the convenience of the process.

In some embodiments, the first uniform light area 135a1 is defined by the overlapping area of the orthographic projection of the reflective layer 136a on the first light guide area 135a, but the disclosure is not limited thereto. In some embodiments, the second uniform light area 135b1 is defined by the overlapping area of the orthographic projection of the reflective layer 136a on the second light guide area 135b, but the disclosure is not limited thereto.

Please refer to Figure 4, which is a partial enlarged view of the structure of Figure 3. As shown in FIG. 4 , in this embodiment, the light emitting surface 133 a of the first light emitting element 133 has a first width W1 . The first light uniform area 135a1 is a portion within the first distance S1 from the light incident surface 135a11 of the first light guide area 135a. The first distance S1 is at least about 1.5 times the first width W1. Thereby, the light emitted by the first light-emitting element 133 can be fully and uniformly mixed in the first uniform light area 135a1.

As shown in FIG. 4 , in this embodiment, the light-emitting surface 134a of the second light-emitting element 134 has a second width W2. The second light uniform area 135b1 is a portion within a distance from the light incident surface 135b11 of the second light guide area 135b. The second distance S2 is at least about 1.5 times the second width W2. Thereby, the light emitted by the second light-emitting element 134 can be fully and uniformly mixed in the second uniform light area 135b1.

In practical applications, as shown in FIG. 3 , the light-emitting touch module 130 can further add a greater/lesser number of light-emitting elements, and the light guide plate 135 can further include a greater/lesser number of light guide areas to match the The light-emitting elements correspond respectively.

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 , in this embodiment, the light-shielding sheet 132 further has a light-blocking portion 132b. The light shielding portion 132b protrudes laterally from the wall surface of the hollow portion 132a of the light shielding sheet 132 and is disposed between the first light guide area 135a and the second light guide area 135b. Thereby, the light-blocking portion 132b of the light-shielding sheet 132 can separate the light emitted by the first light-emitting element 133 and the second light-emitting element 134 without interfering with each other, so that the first pattern P1 on the cover plate 136 and the second light-emitting element 134 can be separated. The second figure P2 is presented separately.

As shown in Figures 2 and 3, in this embodiment, the first light-emitting element 133 is provided on the wall surface of the hollow portion 132a and is configured to emit light toward the light-blocking portion 132b. Therefore, the light emitted by the first light-emitting element 133 must go through more than two turns (for example, through the connecting portion 135c with the bending portion 135c1 shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 and introduced below) before it can reach the second light emitting element 133 . The light guide area 135b (that is, the light emitted by the first light-emitting element 133 will not cause the second pattern P2 of the cover 136 to emit light), thereby further ensuring that the light emitted by the first light-emitting element 133 and the second light-emitting element 134 Do not interfere with each other.

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 , in this embodiment, the second light-emitting element 134 is disposed on the wall surface of the light-blocking portion 132b and is arranged to emit light away from the light-blocking portion 132b. Thereby, the light emitted by the second light-emitting element 134 must go through more than two turns (for example, through the connecting portion 135c with the bending portion 135c1 as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 and introduced below) before it can reach the first The light guide area 135a (that is, the light emitted by the second light-emitting element 134 will not cause the first pattern P1 of the cover 136 to emit light), thereby further ensuring that the light emitted by the first light-emitting element 133 and the second light-emitting element 134 Do not interfere with each other.

In practical applications, the light-emitting element can be flexibly arranged on the wall surface of the hollow portion 132a or the wall surface of the light-isolating portion 132b, and is not limited to the embodiments shown in Figures 2 and 3.

As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 , in this embodiment, the light guide plate 135 has a connecting portion 135c. Both ends of the connecting portion 135c are respectively connected to the first light guide area 135a and the second light guide area 135b. Compared with scattered light guide blocks, this embodiment connects the first light guide area 135a and the second light guide area 135b through the connection portion 135c, which can facilitate the assembly and alignment of the light guide plate 135. Specifically, the connection part 135c has a bent part 135c1. This can further increase the difficulty in the light emitted by the first light-emitting element 133 and the second light-emitting element 134 interfering with each other.

As shown in Figures 3 and 4, in this embodiment, the connecting portion 135c with the bent portion 135c1 is U-shaped, but the disclosure is not limited thereto.

Please refer to FIG. 5 , which is a partial enlarged view of the light shielding sheet 232 and the light guide plate 235 according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 5 , in this embodiment, the light shielding sheet 232 has a hollow portion 232 a. The hollow portion 232a has a closed contour. The light guide plate 235 is embedded in the hollow portion 232a. The light guide plate 235 includes a first light guide area 135a, a second light guide area 135b and a connecting portion 235c. The first light guide area 135a and the second light guide area 135b are the same or similar to the embodiment shown in Figure 3. Therefore, Please refer to the previous relevant instructions and will not go into details here. The difference between this embodiment and the embodiment shown in Figure 3 is that the connecting portion 235c of this embodiment is V-shaped, so the light emitted by the first light-emitting element 133 and the second light-emitting element 134 can also be increased. The difficulty of interfering with each other.

In practical applications, the connection portion 135c can be arranged between the first light guide area 135a and the second light guide area 135b in a Z-shape (eg, zigzag shape), which is not drawn separately here.

As shown in Figure 3, in this embodiment, the width of the connecting portion 135c is smaller than the width of the first light guide area 135a and the width of the second light guide area 135b (for example, the width in the up and down direction in Figure 3 ), but this disclosure is not limited to this.

Please refer to FIG. 6 , which is a front view of the light shielding sheet 332 and the light guide plate 335 according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 6 , in this embodiment, the light shielding sheet 332 has a hollow portion 332 a. The hollow portion 332a has a closed contour. The light guide plate 335 is embedded in the hollow portion 332a. The light guide plate 335 includes a first light guide area 135a, a second light guide area 135b and a connecting portion 335c. The first light guide area 135a and the second light guide area 135b are the same or similar to the embodiment shown in Figure 3. Therefore, Please refer to the previous relevant instructions and will not go into details here. The difference between this embodiment and the embodiment shown in FIG. 3 is that the width of the connecting portion 335c in this embodiment is larger than the width of the first light guide area 135a and the width of the second light guide area 135b (for example, in width in the up and down direction in Figure 6).

In practical applications, the width of the connecting portion 135c may also be equal to the width of the first light guide area 135a and the width of the second light guide area 135b, which will not be drawn separately here.

Please refer to Figure 7 and Figure 8A. FIG. 7 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a light-emitting touch module 430 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The cover 136 is omitted in Figure 7 . The substrate 431 is disposed on the circuit board 137 and has a top surface. The light-shielding sheet 432 is disposed on the side of the substrate 431 away from the circuit board 137 and has a side surface 432a, a first notch N1 and a second notch N2. The first notch N1 and the second notch N2 are recessed from the side surface 432a. The opening of the first notch N1 and the opening of the second notch N2 are aligned with the edge of the substrate 431 (see FIG. 9 ). The light guide plate has a first light guide area 435a and a second light guide area 435b, respectively embedded in the first notch N1 and the second notch N2 and located above the substrate 431.

As shown in FIG. 7 , the first light guide area 435 a and the second light guide area 435 b are respectively located above the first light reflection area and the second light reflection area on the top surface of the substrate 431 . In some embodiments, the first light reflective area and the second light reflective area form an integral top surface. That is, the entire top surface of substrate 431 is reflective. In some other embodiments, the first light reflective area and the second light reflective area are two separate areas on the top surface. In some other implementations, the first light reflective area contacts the entire bottom surface of the first light guide area 435a, and the second light reflective area contacts the entire bottom surface of the second light guide area 435b. For example, the first light reflection area can be defined as the portion where the top surface of the substrate 431 contacts the entire bottom surface of the first light guide area 435a, and the second light reflection area can be defined as the portion where the top surface of the substrate 431 contacts the second guide area. The entire bottom surface of the light area 435b.

The second light guide area 435b has a second light uniform area 435b1 and a second light emitting area 435b2. Thereby, the light emitted by the first light emitting element 133 can be uniformly mixed in the first uniform light area 435a1, and then transferred to the first light emitting area 435a2 for light emitting. Similarly, the light emitted by the second light-emitting element 134 can be uniformly mixed in the second uniform light area 435b1, and then transferred to the second light emitting area 435b2 for light emitting.

The cover 136 covers the first light guide area 435a, the second light guide area 435b and the light shielding sheet 432. The cover 136 has a first pattern P1 and a second pattern P2 (not shown, but similar to Figure 2) corresponding to the first light guide pattern GP1 and the second light guide pattern GP2 respectively.

As shown in FIG. 8A , the first light guide pattern GP1 is separated from the opening of the first notch N1 by a first distance. The first light guide pattern GP1 is separated from the first light emitting element 133 by a second distance. The second distance is greater than the first distance.

As shown in FIG. 8A , the light-shielding sheet 432 has a light-blocking portion 432b1 disposed between the first light guide area 435a and the second light guide area 435b. Thereby, the light-blocking portion 432b1 of the light-shielding sheet 432 can separate the light emitted by the first light-emitting element 133 and the second light-emitting element 134 without interfering with each other, so that the first pattern P1 on the cover plate 136 and the second light-emitting element 134 can be separated. The second figure P2 is presented separately.

As shown in FIG. 8A , the light-shielding sheet 432 further has two light-blocking portions 432b2 on opposite sides of the opening of the first notch N1. On the other hand, the first notch N1 has a bottom with respect to the opening of the first notch N1. The width of the opening of the first notch N1 is smaller than the width of the bottom. Thereby, the light transmitted in the light guide plate 435 will be blocked by the light blocking portion 432b2, and the opening of the first notch N1 with a smaller width can reduce light leakage.

In some embodiments, one of the light-blocking portions 432b2 may be omitted, and the width of the opening of the first notch N1 may be reduced.

As shown in FIG. 8A, in this embodiment, the light guide plate 435 further includes a connecting portion 435c connected between the first light guide area 435a and the second light guide area 435b. In other words, the first notch N1 and the second notch N2 are connected to each other. However, this disclosure is not limited thereto.

Please refer to FIG. 8B , which is a front view of some components of a light-emitting touch module according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. Specifically, the light guide plate 535 includes a first light guide area 535a and a second light guide area 535b that are separated from each other. In other words, the first notch N1 and the second notch N2 are also separated from each other.

Please refer to FIG. 9 , which is a schematic cross-sectional view of the light-emitting touch module 430 in FIG. 8A along line segment 9-9 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIGS. 8A and 9 , in this embodiment, the light guide plate 435 has a light shielding area 435 d corresponding to the opening of the first notch N1 . Thereby, the light transmitted in the light guide plate 435 can be further prevented from lateral leakage through the light shielding area 435d.

Please refer to FIG. 10, which is a schematic cross-sectional view of the light-emitting touch module 430 in FIG. 8A along line segment 9-9 according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIGS. 8A and 10 , in this embodiment, the light-emitting touch module 430 further includes a light-shielding member 438 covering at least the edge of the substrate 431 . Specifically, the light shielding member 438 is disposed on the surface of the cover plate 136 facing the substrate 431 . Thereby, the light transmitted in the light guide plate 435 can be further prevented from leaking sideways through the opening of the first notch N1 through the light shielding member 438 .

In some embodiments, the light shielding member 438 is in a block shape, but the present disclosure is not limited thereto. Please refer to FIG. 11, which is a schematic cross-sectional view of the light-emitting touch module 430 in FIG. 8A along line segment 9-9 according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. Compared with the light shielding member 438 in FIG. 10 , the light shielding member 438 in FIG. 11 is in a sheet shape and further extends to the surface of the circuit board 137 away from the cover plate 136 . In some embodiments, the light shield 438 can be bonded to the surface of the circuit board 137 . Thereby, the light shielding member 438 in FIG. 11 can more completely prevent the light transmitted in the light guide plate 435 from leaking sideways through the opening of the first gap N1.

Please refer to FIG. 12, which is a schematic cross-sectional view of the light-emitting touch module 430 in FIG. 8A along line segment 12-12 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIGS. 8A and 12 , in this embodiment, both the light shielding sheet 432 and the light guide plate 435 are in contact with the top surface of the substrate 431 . However, this disclosure is not limited thereto.

Please refer to FIG. 13 , which is a schematic cross-sectional view of the light-emitting touch module 430 in FIG. 8A along line segment 12 - 12 according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIGS. 8A and 13 , in this embodiment, the light guide plate 435 contacts the top surface of the substrate 431 , and the light shielding sheet 432 is bonded to the circuit board 137 through the adhesive layer 439 and separated from the substrate 431 .

Please refer to FIG. 14 , which is a schematic cross-sectional view along line segment 12 - 12 of the light-emitting touch module 430 in FIG. 8A according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIGS. 8A and 14 , in this embodiment, both the light shielding sheet 432 and the light guide plate 435 are in contact with the top surface of the substrate 431 a. Compared with the substrate 431 in Figure 12, the substrate 431a in this embodiment is a black plastic sheet, which has a light reflection area 431a1 on the top surface of the substrate 431a. For example, the material of the black plastic sheet includes polyethylene terephthalate (PET), but this disclosure is not limited to this. The light reflection area 431a1 is in contact with the bottom surface of the light guide plate 435 and is separated from the light shielding sheet 432. For example, the light reflection area 431a1 contacts the entire bottom surface of the light guide plate 435. Light guide plate 435, but the present disclosure is not limited thereto.

Please refer to FIG. 15 , which is a partial front view of a light-emitting touch module 430 according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 15, in this embodiment, the light-shielding sheet 432 further has an air channel 432c connecting the first notch N1 to the side surface 432a. Thereby, the heat generated by the first light-emitting element 133 in the first gap N1 can be discharged from the first gap N1 through the air channel 432c.

As shown in Figure 15, in this embodiment, the air channel 432c extends from the first notch N1 to the side surface 432a in a curved manner. Thereby, the light leaving the light guide plate 435 and entering the air channel 432c must go through at least one turning before reaching the side 432a, thereby avoiding light leakage at the outlet of the air channel 432c at the side 432a.

From the above detailed description of the specific embodiments of the present disclosure, it can be clearly seen that in the light-emitting touch module of the present disclosure, the first light-emitting element and the second light-emitting element respectively face the first light guide area and the light guide plate. The second light guide area emits light.
