Use the following method to prepare fertilizer blends containing i) a first granular fertilizer composition containing core-shell fertilizer granules having a core containing a urease inhibitor and a shell containing urea, wherein the shell covers the at least a portion of the outer surface of the core, and ii) a second granular fertilizer composition containing additional plant fertilizers other than urea. The composition containing plaster of paris, bleached wheat flour, chalk, NBPT and HPMC was formed into core agglomerates by extrusion. The core has an average diameter of 0.7 to 1.7 mm. Based on total weight of the core, the core contains 40.39% by weight of the plaster, 47.32% by weight of the chalk / CaCO 3, 9.79% by weight of bleached wheat flour, 2.2% of the weight of NBPT, and 0.3% by weight of HPMC.

For Fertilizer Blend 2 compared to Comparative Fertilizer Blend 6 (containing similar wt % MAP and MOP), Fertilizer Blend 3 compared to Comparative Fertilizer Blend 7 (containing similar wt % MAP), and Similar trends in NBPT recovery were also observed for Fertilizer Blend 4 compared to Comparative Fertilizer Blend 8 (containing similar wt % AS).
