Abstract

This invention discloses a flexible supercapacitor combining a surface roughened electrode and gel electrolyte and the method of making same. The supercapacitor includes two sandpaper base electrodes, gel electrolyte, porous separation membrane and packaging thin film. The gel electrolyte is coated on the inner surfaces of the two sandpaper base electrodes. The porous separation membrane is disposed in the gel electrolyte between the two sandpaper base electrodes to separate the two sandpaper base electrodes and the ions that conduct gel electrolyte. The packaging thin film is coated on the outer surfaces of the two sandpaper base electrodes in a manner of hot pressure assembly to package a flexible supercapacitor. As a result, the specific surface area of the electrode substrate can be improved with the aid of the surface rough structure of the sandpaper and therefore the capacity of storing charge can be enhanced.
