Abstract
The invention provides a microcapsule liquid crystal and a microcapsule liquid crystal display device thereof. The microcapsule liquid crystal comprises a smectic-phase liquid crystal and a capsule wall encapsulating the smectic-phase liquid crystal, wherein a conductive substance is added to the smectic-phase liquid crystal. A display element comprises an upper substrate, a first electrode, the microcapsule liquid crystal layer, a second electrode and a lower substrate. As the conductive substance is added to the microcapsule liquid crystal layer, and when a low-frequency voltage is applied, the arrangement of the liquid crystal is disturbed, the ordering of the liquid crystal is reduced and the low ordering can be maintained after power off. The microcapsule liquid crystal display device is used for displaying in a fog state after being applied with the voltage and in an appropriate transparent state after being locally heated.
