Abstract

一種網路卡資訊管理方法及網路卡資訊管理系統。網路卡資訊管理系統包括管理電腦及伺服器。伺服器包括網路卡、記憶體、處理器及管理單元。處理器偵測網路卡以取得網路卡資訊，並傳送網路卡資訊。管理單元接收網路卡資訊，並儲存網路卡資訊至記憶體。管理電腦發出詢問請求至管理單元。管理單元回應詢問請求自記憶體讀取網路卡資訊，並輸出網路卡資訊至管理電腦。

Description

網路卡資訊管理方法及網路卡資訊管理系統
本發明是有關於一種資訊管理方法與資訊管理系統，且特別是有關於一種網路卡資訊管理方法及網路卡資訊管理系統。
伺服器管理員所管理的伺服器往往不只一台。若伺服器管理員需逐一親臨各伺服器前進行管理，將造成伺服器管理員極大的負擔。目前現有技術係透過智慧平台管理介面(Intelligent Platform Management Interface,IPMI)讓遠端管理電腦與伺服器溝通，伺服器管理員即能藉由操作遠端管理電腦來管理多台伺服器。然而，目前現有技術仍無法讓伺服器管理員由遠端管理電腦來取得網路卡資訊。
本發明係有關於一種網路卡資訊管理方法及網路卡資訊管理系統，其能讓管理電腦取得伺服器的網路卡資訊。
根據本發明，提出一種網路卡資訊管理方法。網路 卡資訊管理方法包括：偵測網路卡(Network Interface Card,NIC)，以取得網路卡資訊；傳送該網路卡資訊至管理單元；管理單元儲存網路卡資訊至記憶體；由管理電腦發出詢問請求至管理單元；以及管理單元回應詢問請求自記憶體讀取網路卡資訊，並輸出網路卡資訊至管理電腦。
根據本發明，提出一種網路卡資訊管理系統。網路卡資訊管理系統包括管理電腦及伺服器。伺服器包括網路卡(Network Interface Card,NIC)、記憶體、處理器及管理單元。處理器偵測網路卡以取得網路卡資訊，並傳送網路卡資訊。管理單元接收網路卡資訊，並儲存網路卡資訊至記憶體。管理電腦發出詢問請求至管理單元。管理單元回應詢問請求自記憶體讀取網路卡資訊，並輸出網路卡資訊至管理電腦。
為了對本發明之上述及其他方面有更佳的瞭解，下文特舉較佳實施例，並配合所附圖式，作詳細說明如下：

第2圖繪示係為根據本案實施例之網路卡資訊管理方法之示意圖。
請參照第1圖，第1圖繪示係為根據本案實施例之網路 卡資訊管理系統之示意圖。網路卡資訊管理系統1包括管理電腦11及伺服器12(1)~12(N)。伺服器12(1)~12(N)各包括網路卡(Network Interface Card,NIC)121、記憶體122、管理單元123、處理器124及伺服器電路125，記憶體122可內建於管理單元123。管理電腦11係經由系統介面或網路與伺服器12(1)~12(N)溝通，且系統介面例如為鍵盤控制器規格(Keyboard Controller Style,KCS)介面、系統管理介面晶片(System Management Interface Chip,SMIC)、區塊傳送(Block Transfer,BT)介面或系統管理匯流排系統介面(SMBus System Interface,SSIF)。在本案實施例中，管理電腦11可為遠端管理電腦(remote management computer)或可為本地管理電腦(local management computer)。管理單元123例如係為系統控制器，而系統控制器例如為基板管理控制器(Baseboard Management Controller,BMC)。伺服器電路125包括伺服器中除網路卡(Network Interface Card,NIC)121、記憶體122、管理單元123及處理器124以外之所有元件。管理電腦11更包括使用者介面，且使用者介面可用以顯示網路卡資訊。
處理器124偵測網路卡121，以取得網路卡資訊，並傳送網路卡資訊至管理單元123。網路卡資訊例如包括網路卡插槽識別碼(NIC Slot ID)、網路卡類別(NIC Type)、網路卡連接埠號碼(NIC Port Number)及網路卡實體位址(NIC MAC Address)等。管理單元123接收由處理器124所傳來的網路卡資訊，並儲存網路卡資訊至記憶體122。當管理電腦11發出詢問請求至管理 單元123，管理單元123回應詢問請求自記憶體122讀取網路卡資訊，並輸出網路卡資訊至管理電腦11。
請同時參照第1圖及第2圖，第2圖繪示係為根據本案實施例之網路卡資訊管理方法之示意圖。網路卡資訊管理方法包括如下步驟：首先如步驟S1所示，使用者2控制伺服器電路125開機。接著如步驟S2所示，伺服器電路125開機。跟著如步驟S3所示，處理器124於開機自我檢測(Power On Self Test,POST)開始前執行基本輸入輸出系統(Basic Input/Output System,BIOS)。然後如步驟S4所示，開機自我檢測開始。接著如步驟S5所示，於開機自我檢測結束前，偵測網路卡121。跟著如步驟S6所示，處理器124取得網路卡資訊。然後如步驟S7所示，處理器124傳送網路卡資訊至管理單元123。接著如步驟S8所示，管理單元123接收網路卡資訊，並儲存網路卡資訊至記憶體122。跟著如步驟S9所示，管理電腦11發出詢問請求至管理單元123。然後如步驟S10所示，管理單元123回應詢問請求自記憶體122讀取網路卡資訊，並輸出網路卡資訊至管理電腦11。接著如步驟S11所示，管理電腦11將網路卡資訊顯示於使用者介面。此外，管理電腦11亦可將網路卡資訊提供給其他程式使用。然後如步驟S12所示，管理電腦11通知使用者已完成讀取網路卡資訊。接著如步驟S13所示，使用者2回覆確認訊息至管理電腦11。前述步驟S5至S10係於開機自我檢測時段Tpost內執行。
前述實施例所述之網路卡資訊管理系統及網路卡資 訊管理方法能讓使用者從管理電腦獲得伺服器的網路卡資訊，大幅地提高管理上的便利性。
此外，於上述實施例及第2圖中，步驟S9(管理電腦11發出詢問請求至管理單元123)及步驟S10(管理單元123回應詢問請求自記憶體122讀取網路卡資訊，並輸出網路卡資訊至管理電腦11)的執行時機乃是於開機自我檢測時段Tpost內執行。但於本案其他可能實施例之中，步驟S9及步驟S10也可於開機自我檢測完成/結束之後才進行，此亦在本案精神範圍內。
綜上所述，雖然本發明已以較佳實施例揭露如上，然其並非用以限定本發明。本發明所屬技術領域中具有通常知識者，在不脫離本發明之精神和範圍內，當可作各種之更動與潤飾。因此，本發明之保護範圍當視後附之申請專利範圍所界定者為準。

Claims (17)

  1. 一種網路卡資訊管理方法，包括：偵測一網路卡(Network Interface Card,NIC)，以取得一網路卡資訊；傳送該網路卡資訊至一管理單元；該管理單元儲存該網路卡資訊至一記憶體；由一管理電腦發出一詢問請求至該管理單元；以及該管理單元回應該詢問請求自該記憶體讀取該網路卡資訊，並輸出該網路卡資訊至該管理電腦。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之網路卡資訊管理方法，其中該偵測步驟係於一開機自我檢測(Power On Self Test,POST)時段內執行。
  3. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之網路卡資訊管理方法，其中該傳送步驟係於一開機自我檢測時段內執行。
  4. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之網路卡資訊管理方法，其中該儲存步驟係於一開機自我檢測時段內執行。
  5. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之網路卡資訊管理方法，其中該發出步驟係於一開機自我檢測時段內執行或於該開機自我檢測時段後執行。
  6. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之網路卡資訊管理方法，其中該輸出步驟係於一開機自我檢測時段內執行或於該開機自我檢測時段後執行。
  7. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之網路卡資訊管理方法，更包括：於一開機自我檢測結束前，偵測該網路卡。
  8. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之網路卡資訊管理方法，更包括：於該開機自我檢測開始前，執行一基本輸入輸出系統(Basic Input/Output System，BIOS)。
  9. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之網路卡資訊管理方法，更包括：將該網路卡資訊顯示於一使用者介面。
  10. 一種網路卡資訊管理系統，包括：一管理電腦；以及一伺服器，包括：一網路卡(Network Interface Card,NIC)；一記憶體；一處理器，用以偵測該網路卡，以取得一網路卡資訊，並傳送該網路卡資訊；及一管理單元，用以接收該網路卡資訊，並儲存該網路卡資訊至該記憶體，該管理電腦發出一詢問請求至該管理單元，該管理單元回應該詢問請求自該記憶體讀取該網路卡資訊，並輸出該網路卡資訊至該管理電腦。
  11. 如申請專利範圍第10項所述之網路卡資訊管理系統，其 中該處理器係於一開機自我檢測(Power On Self Test,POST)時段內，偵測該網路卡，以取得該網路卡資訊，並輸出該網路卡資訊。
  12. 如申請專利範圍第10項所述之網路卡資訊管理系統，其中該管理單元係於一開機自我檢測時段內，接收該網路卡資訊，並儲存該網路卡資訊至該記憶體。
  13. 如申請專利範圍第10項所述之網路卡資訊管理系統，其中該管理電腦係於一開機自我檢測時段內或於該開機自我檢測時段後，發出該詢問請求至該管理單元。
  14. 如申請專利範圍第10項所述之網路卡資訊管理系統，其中該管理單元係於一開機自我檢測時段內或於該開機自我檢測時段後，回應該詢問請求自該記憶體讀取該網路卡資訊，並輸出該網路卡資訊至該管理電腦。
  15. 如申請專利範圍第10項所述之網路卡資訊管理系統，其中該處理器於一開機自我檢測結束前，偵測該網路卡。
  16. 如申請專利範圍第10項所述之網路卡資訊管理系統，其中該處理器於執行該開機自我檢測開始前，執行一基本輸入輸出系統。
  17. 如申請專利範圍第10項所述之網路卡資訊管理系統，其中該管理電腦更包括：一使用者介面，用以顯示該網路卡資訊。
