Abstract

A mounting device is provided for fixing an expansion card to a circuit board. The expansion card includes a connector on a bottom thereof to be electrically connected to the circuit board. The mounting device includes a fixing member and a latching member each includes a supporting portion sandwiched between the circuit board and the expansion card, a post extending from the supporting portion to be extended through the expansion card, and a blocking member to about a top surface of the expansion card.

The invention relates to an expansion card fixing device.

The conventional expansion card is fixed directly to the motherboard through the screw after being inserted into the expansion card slot in parallel with the motherboard. However, this fixing method is very cumbersome.

In view of the above, it is necessary to provide an expansion card fixing device that facilitates fixing an expansion card.

Referring to FIG. 1, a preferred embodiment of the expansion card securing device of the present invention is used to secure an expansion card 10. The expansion card fixing device includes a circuit board 20, a fastener 30, a support member 40 and a fixing member 50.

A connector 22 is protruded from the circuit board 20. The circuit board 20 defines two through holes 24 adjacent to the rear side of the connector 22. The circuit board 20 is spaced apart from the front side of the connector 22 by two through holes 24 .

A plug portion 12 is protruded from the bottom surface of the expansion card 10 (please refer to FIG. 3). The expansion card 10 defines an assembly hole 14.

The fastener 30 includes a support portion 32, a post 34 protruding from one end of the support portion 32, and an extension portion 36 extending laterally rearward from the support portion 32 and extending vertically from the end of the extension portion 36. One of the stops 38 is extended. A protrusion 380 having a triangular cross section is protruded from one side of the stopper portion 38 toward the support portion 32. The top surface 382 of the projection 380 is downward and inclined toward the support portion 32. The distal end of the stopping portion 38 is bent away from the supporting portion 32 to form an operating portion 384. The bottom surface of the support portion 32 has two pins 320 which are elastically deformable and which are substantially inverted.

The support member 40 includes a support portion 42 , a post 43 protruding perpendicularly from the middle of the support portion 42 , and a blocking piece 44 disposed at a front end of the support portion 42 . A pin 46 having the same structure as the pin 320 is protruded from the bottom of the support portion 42.

The fixing member 50 includes a supporting portion 52 , a post 54 protruding perpendicularly from the middle of the supporting portion 52 , and a stopping portion 56 vertically disposed at one end of the supporting portion 52 . The structure of the stopper portion 56 is the same as that of the stopper portion 38 of the fastener 30. The stopper portion 56 is also provided with a protruding portion 560 that faces the support portion 52 and an operating portion 562 that is away from the support portion 52. The top surface 564 of the protrusion 560 also slopes downward toward the support portion 52. A pin 520 having the same structure and the same pin 320 is protruded from the bottom of the supporting portion 52.

Referring to FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, during assembly, the pins 320 of the fastener 30 are elastically deformed to pass through the through holes 24 on the rear side of the connector 22 of the circuit board 20, and then elastically deformed and blocked on the bottom surface of the circuit board 20. The support portion 32 is supported on the top surface of the circuit board 20. The pins 46 of the support member 40 and the pins 520 of the fixing member 50 respectively pass through the two through holes 24 on the front side of the connector 22 to recover elastic deformation and block the bottom surface of the circuit board 20, and the support portion of the support member 40 42 and the support portion 52 of the fixing member 50 are supported on the top surface of the circuit board 20. The stop portion 56 of the fixing member 50 is away from the support member 40.

In use, the expansion card 10 is placed between the fastener 30, the support member 40 and the fixing member 50. The rear end and the side of the expansion card 10 respectively abut the top surfaces of the two protruding portions 380 and 560. At the top of 382 and 564, the expansion card 10 is parallel to the circuit board 20. Then, the expansion card 10 is pressed down to slide over the top surfaces 382 and 564 of the two protrusions 380 and 560, so that the two stoppers 38 and 56 are elastically deformed outward, so that the posts 34, 43, 54 respectively, the mounting hole 14 of the expansion card 10 is inserted, and the connector portion 12 is inserted into the connector 22 until the expansion card 10 is supported by the support portions 32, 42, 52. At this time, the two stoppers 38 and 56 are elastically deformed, and the two protrusions 380 and 560 are blocked from the top surface of the expansion card 10. The rear end of the expansion card 10 is blocked by the stop portion 38. The front end of the expansion card 10 is blocked by the flap 44. One side of the expansion card 10 is blocked by the stop portion 56.

When the expansion card 10 needs to be removed, the two operating portions 384 and 562 are rotated outward, and the two protruding portions 380 and 560 are separated from the expansion card 10, so that the expansion card 10 can be taken up.

Claims (6)

An expansion card fixing device for fixing an expansion card having a plug portion on a bottom surface to a circuit board, the expansion card fixing device comprising a card fastener and a fixing component, wherein the plug portion of the expansion card is plugged into the circuit a card, the card firmware and the fixing member are respectively provided with a support portion sandwiched between the circuit board and the expansion card, a post protruding from the support portion and passing through the expansion card, and a protrusion protruding from the top surface of the expansion card unit. The expansion card fixing device of claim 1, wherein each of the supporting portions extends upward to form a stopping portion, and the protruding portion protrudes from one side of the stopping portion, and the top end of the blocking portion faces the stopping portion The other side is bent to form an operating portion.
