Description

Touch panel operation method and electronic device

The present invention relates to a touch electronic device, and more particularly to a method and an electronic device for operating a touch panel.

With the advancement of touch technology, human dependence on electronic devices is increasing day by day, and touch screens have gradually replaced traditional screens as input and output tools for electronic devices. Many of the electronic devices currently on the market operate using a touch panel. Many consumer electronic products meet the user's requirements for light weight, and they also use touch panels to save space on physical buttons.

For example, an electronic device (such as a mobile phone or a tablet computer) having a touch panel generally has a single-point or multi-touch function. The touch surface detection function can be provided on the entire surface of the touch panel of the conventional electronic device. In addition to the target contact location, the user must take care to avoid touching other locations on the touch panel to avoid false triggering of unexpected operational events/functions. In order to avoid false triggering events, the user's hand must be suspended above the touch panel, which is quite inconvenient for the user to operate the touch panel.

An application that uses a drawing on the touch panel of a tablet For example, when the user rests the palm on the touch panel according to the usage habits in real life, and then draws on the touch panel with a finger (or a stylus), the touch panel senses multiple touches. The control signal is caused by an operation event different from what the user expected. For example, the user would expect the touch operation of the above finger (or stylus) to produce a line drawing function, but in fact the tablet would reflect the zoom function or other functions instead of the line drawing function.

The invention provides a method and an electronic device for operating a touch panel, which can prevent a user from accidentally touching the touch panel and increase the convenience of the user operating the touch panel.

The invention provides a method for operating a touch panel, wherein the touch panel is disposed on an electronic device. The operation method of the touch panel includes the following steps. Detect touch events through the touch panel. A part of the touch area of the touch panel is defined as an invalid touch operation area. It is determined whether the touch position of the touch event in the touch panel is located in the invalid touch operation area. When the contact position is in the invalid touch operation area, the event trigger function corresponding to the contact position is disabled. When the contact position is not in the invalid touch operation area, the operation event corresponding to the contact position is triggered.

The present invention further provides an electronic device including a touch panel, a touch panel interface circuit, and a processing unit, wherein the touch panel interface circuit is coupled to the processing unit and the touch panel. The processing unit defines a part of the touch area of the touch panel as an invalid touch operation area, and detects a touch event of the touch panel through the touch panel interface circuit, and determines whether the touch position of the touch event in the touch panel is Inactive touch operation Work area. When the contact position is in the invalid touch operation area, the event trigger function corresponding to the contact position is disabled, and when the contact position is not in the invalid touch operation area, the processing unit triggers an operation event corresponding to the contact position.

Based on the above, when the touch event is in the invalid touch operation area, the electronic device disables the event trigger function corresponding to the touch event, and when the touch event is not in the invalid touch operation area, the electronic device triggers the corresponding Operational event. In this way, the electronic device can prevent the user from being touched by mistake, thereby improving the convenience of the user when operating the touch panel.

In order to allow the user to operate the electronic device with the touch panel, the user can use it according to personal habits, for example, the user rests the palm on the touch panel, so the touch panel needs to provide a function to prevent accidental touch. A touch area that the user does not want to trigger. Thereby, the user can safely place the palm on the disabled touch area to perform a touch operation. In order to make the content of the present invention clearer, the following specific embodiments are examples of the invention that can be implemented.

1 is a block diagram of an electronic device in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 1 , the electronic device 100 includes a touch panel 110 , a touch panel interface circuit 115 , and a processing unit 120 . The touch panel interface circuit 115 is coupled to the processing unit 120 and the touch panel 110 . The electronic device 100 is, for example, a tablet PC, a Pocket PC, a personal computer, a notebook computer, a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), a stock machine, a mobile phone, a desk, or the like. Functional electronic devices and the like are not limited herein.

The touch panel 110 can be disposed on a display panel (not shown). The user can directly view the image displayed by the display panel through the touch panel 110. surface. The touch panel 110 can have a plurality of sensing blocks (not shown), and the sensing blocks can generate touch signals according to a user's touch operation. In this embodiment, the touch panel 110 is used as an input/output interface of the electronic device 100, that is, the touch panel 110 can sense touch input from a user and display related information, such as displaying a user interface and various Application, etc. In addition, the touch panel 110 of the embodiment may be any type of touch panel, such as a capacitive touch panel or a resistive touch panel. The touch panel interface circuit 115 can drive the touch panel 110 and read the touch signal of the touch panel 110.

The processing unit 120 is, for example, a central processing unit (CPU), or other programmable microprocessor (Microprocessor), a digital signal processor (DSP), a programmable controller, and a special application. Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs), Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs), or the like.

In this embodiment, the processing unit 120 can execute a plurality of code segments, such as an operating system (OS) running the electronic device 100, to control the overall operation of the electronic device 100. Specifically, the processing unit 120 can control the touch panel interface circuit 115 according to the instructions of the code segments, and detect the touch event of the touch panel 110 through the touch panel interface circuit 115, thereby implementing the touch of the embodiment. How to operate the control panel.

For example, in some embodiments, the processing unit 120 includes a detection module and an analysis module. The detection module and the analysis module may be computer programs. Code to implement. Alternatively, in another embodiment of the present invention, the detection module and the analysis module may be implemented by a hardware circuit composed of one or several logic gates. The detection module can detect the touch event of the touch panel 110 through the touch panel interface circuit 115, and receive a series of sensing signals generated by the touch event from the touch panel 110 through the panel interface circuit 115. The analysis module can determine whether the contact position of the touch event in the touch panel 110 is located in the invalid touch operation area. When the contact position is in the invalid touch operation area, the event trigger function corresponding to the contact position is disabled. When the contact position is not in the invalid touch operation area, the processing unit 120 triggers an operation event corresponding to the contact position.

100。 The operation method of the touch panel 110 is described below with the electronic device 100 described above. FIG. 2A is a flow chart of a method for operating the touch panel 110 according to the first embodiment of the present invention. The operation method in this embodiment is applicable to the electronic device 100 having the touch panel 110.

Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2A simultaneously, in step S202, the processing unit 120 defines a part of the touch area of the touch panel 110 as an invalid touch operation area. For example, the operating system running by the processing unit 120 of the embodiment can display a PIP (Picture in Picture) picture or a user interface with a stacked design through the touch panel 110. In some embodiments, when the touch panel 110 displays a PIP picture, it can simultaneously display two or more pictures from different signals, and the invalid touch operation area is the picture on the uppermost layer, so the processing unit 120 can According to the size and position of the upper layer of the screen, information such as the size and position of the invalid touch operation area is defined. In another embodiment, when the operating system of the touch panel 110 is transparent, When the user interface of the stacked design is used to display multiple layered stacked interfaces, the invalid touch operating area can be regarded as the uppermost interface among the layered stacked interfaces. Here, the processing unit 120 can define information such as the size and position of the invalid touch operation area according to the design of the layered stack interface.

In this embodiment, the processing unit 120 does not trigger a touch event located in the invalid touch operation area. It should be noted that, for the touch panel 110 having the touch area and the non-touch area, the touch area is, for example, an area on the touch panel 110 for receiving the touch signal, and the non-touch area does not have the touch area. The function of detecting a touch event (for example, a peripheral area located at the edge of the touch panel 110). Therefore, a part of the touch area in which the invalid touch operation area is located refers to a part of the touch area of the touch panel 110.

In step S204, the processing unit 120 detects the touch event of the touch panel 110 through the touch panel interface circuit 115. The touch event may be a touch operation performed by the user on the touch area of the touch panel 110, such as a pressing, clicking, or sliding operation. Here, the processing unit 120 obtains the location information of the contact location on the touch panel 110.

In step S206, the processing unit 120 determines whether the contact position of the touch event in the touch panel 110 is located in the invalid touch operation area. When the processing unit 120 determines that the contact position is in the invalid touch operation area, the processing unit 120 disables the event trigger function corresponding to the contact position as shown in step S208. That is to say, when the user performs a touch operation on the invalid touch operation area, the processing unit 120 does not trigger an operation event corresponding to the touch operation. For example, when the user is invalid When the software button displayed on the touch panel 110 is clicked in the touch operation area, the processing unit 120 does not activate the function corresponding to the software button. For another example, when the user drags the object displayed by the touch panel 110 in the invalid touch operation area, the processing unit 120 does not move the object correspondingly.

However, when the processing unit 120 determines that the contact position is not in the invalid touch operation area, the processing unit 120 triggers an operation event corresponding to the contact position as shown in step S210. That is to say, when the user performs a touch operation such as clicking or dragging on the touch area outside the invalid touch operation area, the processing unit 120 triggers an operation event corresponding to the touch operation. For example, when the user selects the software button displayed by the touch panel 110 in the non-inactive touch operation area, the processing unit 120 activates the function corresponding to the software button, for example, the application corresponding to the software button is turned on. For another example, when the user drags the object displayed by the touch panel 110 in the non-inactive touch operation area, the processing unit 120 moves the object correspondingly.

It should be noted that the embodiment does not limit the size and location of the above-mentioned invalid touch operation area. The processing unit 120 can define the size of the invalid touch operation area and the position of the invalid touch operation area on the touch panel 110 according to the preset. In addition, after the processing unit 120 defines the invalid touch operation area on the touch panel 110, the user can trigger step S202 at any time during the operation of the electronic device 100 to change the relevant definition of the invalid touch operation area. For example, according to the user's operation, the processing unit 120 can also define an invalid touch operation area through a specific button configured on the touch panel 110, thereby adjusting the presentation mode of the invalid touch operation area.

2B is a schematic diagram showing an application scenario of the first embodiment of the present invention. Please refer to Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2B , a part of the touch area of the touch area 200 on the touch panel 110 is defined as an invalid touch operation area 210 . The touch panel 110 has a button 202, a button 212, a button 214, and a button 216. The user can correspondingly define the invalid touch operation area by pressing the button 202, the button 212, the button 214, and the button 216.

For example, the processing unit 120 can determine whether to delete the invalid touch operation area 210 on the touch area 200 of the touch panel 110 according to the button 202 disposed on the touch panel 110. That is, when the button 202 is pressed, the processing unit 120 divides the invalid touch operation area 210 on the touch panel 110. According to the location information of the invalid touch operation area 210, the operation event in the invalid touch operation area 210 is ignored, so that the event trigger function corresponding to the contact position is disabled. The invalid touch operation area 210 is displayed, for example, on the uppermost layer of the PIP picture or on the top layer of the layered stack interface.

On the other hand, the processing unit 120 can also determine whether to cancel the invalid touch operation area 210 according to the button 216 in the invalid touch operation area 210. That is, after the button 216 is pressed, the invalid touch operation area 210 is removed, so that the processing unit 120 can trigger a corresponding operation event according to the contact position of the touch event, regardless of whether the contact position is in an invalid touch operation. Within area 210. In other embodiments, button 216 may be cancelled and the function of button 216 is incorporated into button 202. For example, when the user triggers the button 202 for the first time, the touch control area 200 of the touch panel 110 is divided into the invalid touch operation area 210. When the user triggers the button 202 for the second time, the invalid touch operation area 210 is cancelled.

In addition, the processing unit 120 can also act according to gestures performed by the user. To adjust the size or shape of the invalid touch operating area 210. For example, the user can define/adjust the size or shape of the invalid touch operating area 210 by pressing and dragging the button 212. In addition, the processing unit 120 can also move the position of the invalid touch operation area 210 on the touch panel 110 according to the gesture action applied by the use finger. For example, the user can define/move the position of the invalid touch operation area 210 on the touch panel 110 by pressing and dragging the button 214.

In the embodiment, the button 212, the button 214 and the button 216 are implemented in the virtual touch operation area 210, and the button 202 can be a physical button disposed on the electronic device 100. However, the implementation of the buttons is not limited thereto. In other embodiments, the button 202, the button 212, the button 214, and the button 216 can be physical buttons or soft buttons (virtual buttons) to facilitate the user to adjust the presentation mode of the inactive touch operating area 210. For example, in other embodiments, the button 202 can be a virtual button displayed in the touch panel 110.

3(a) to 3(d) are schematic diagrams showing an application scenario of a method for operating a touch panel according to a first embodiment of the present invention, wherein the embodiment uses an electronic device 100 as shown in FIG. Configure the architecture. Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 3( a ), when the button 302 is not pressed, the processing unit 120 does not divide the invalid touch operation area on the touch panel 110 . At this time, the touch operation performed by the user at any position of the touch area 300 can be detected as a touch signal. For example, if the touch time of the touch operation is greater than the preset time, or the contact area of the touch operation on the touch panel 110 is greater than the preset area, the processing unit 120 performs an operation corresponding to the touch operation. event.

Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 3(b), when the button 302 is pressed by the user's hand 30, the processing unit 120 divides the invalid touch operation area on the touch panel 110 as shown in FIG. 3(c). 310. Here, it is assumed that the touch panel 110 displays a PIP picture, and the touch panel 110 can display the invalid touch operation area 310 as a sub-picture on the top layer. Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 3( c ), the invalid touch operation area 310 has a button 312 , a button 314 and a button 316 for the user to adjust the presentation mode (eg, size or position) of the invalid touch operation area 310 . At this time, when the touch panel 110 detects a touch event, if the touch position of the touch event on the touch panel 110 is outside the invalid touch operation area 310, the processing unit 120 triggers the contact position. The corresponding operational event. However, if the contact position is within the invalid touch operation area 310, the processing unit 120 disables the event trigger function corresponding to the contact position.

For example, as shown in FIG. 3( d ), it is assumed that the user performs a touch operation on the touch panel 110 with the hand 30 , wherein the contact position p32 of the finger 32 on the touch panel 110 is not located in the invalid touch operation area 310 . The contact position p32 is in the touch area 300 outside the invalid touch operation area 310. Here, the processing unit 120 triggers an operation event corresponding to the contact position p32 to perform an operation function corresponding to the operation event. However, the contact position p34 of the palm 34 (other than the finger 32) in contact with the touch panel 110 is located in the invalid touch operation area 310, so the processing unit 120 can disable the event trigger function corresponding to the position p34. That is to say, the touch event of the palm 34 contacting the touch panel 110 is ignored. In this way, when the user performs a touch operation on the touch panel 110, the palm 34 can be safely placed against the invalid touch operation. The touch area 300 outside the invalid touch operation area 310 is used in the area 310 to improve the convenience when the user operates the touch panel 110.

In this embodiment, after the user inputs the invalid touch operation area 310 through the button 302, the user can also adjust the invalidity by pressing the button 312, the button 314 and the button 316 in the invalid touch operation area 310. The manner in which the touch operation area 310 is presented.

4(a) to 4(d) are diagrams illustrating the adjustment of the size of the invalid touch operation area 310 in the first embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 4( a ), after the touch panel 110 divides the invalid touch operation area 310 , as shown in FIG. 4( b ), the user can adjust the size of the invalid touch operation area 310 by pressing the button 312 . To enlarge or reduce the invalid touch operation area 310. For example, as shown in FIG. 4(b) and FIG. 4(c), when the finger 32 is pressed, the finger 32 performs a dragging gesture on the touch panel 110 (for example, dragging in the R1 direction). The invalid touch operation area 310 is enlarged. Similarly, as shown in FIG. 4(b) and FIG. 4(d), the finger 32 can also perform a dragging gesture in the direction R2 opposite to the direction R1 when pressing 312, and the invalid touch can be performed. The operation area 310 is reduced. In this way, the user can conveniently adjust the size of the invalid touch operation area 310 according to the requirement when the touch panel 110 is operated, thereby increasing the convenience when the touch panel 110 is operated.

5(a) to 5(d) are diagrams for explaining the position of the invalid touch operation area 310 in the first embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 5( a ), after the touch panel 110 divides the invalid touch operation area 310 , as shown in FIG. 5( b ), the user can move the invalid touch operation area 310 by pressing the button 314 to Adjust invalid touch operation area The position of 310 on the touch panel 110. For example, as shown in FIG. 5(b) and FIG. 5(c), when the finger 32 is pressed, the finger 32 can perform a dragging gesture on the touch panel 110 (for example, the previous S1 direction dragging). The invalid touch operation area 310 is moved to the direction S1. Similarly, as shown in FIG. 5(c) and FIG. 5(d), the finger 32 can also perform a dragging gesture in the direction S2 opposite to the direction S1 when pressing 314, so that the touch can be invalid. The operation area 310 moves in the direction S2. In this way, the user can conveniently adjust the position of the invalid touch operation area 310 according to the requirement when the touch panel 110 is operated, thereby increasing the convenience when the touch panel 110 is operated.

6(a) to 6(c) are diagrams illustrating the cancellation of the invalid touch operation area 310 in the first embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 6( a ), after the touch panel 110 divides the invalid touch operation area 310 , as shown in FIG. 6( b ), the user (eg, the finger 32 ) can cancel the invalid touch by pressing the button 316 . The operation area 310 is such that the touch operation performed by the user at any position of the touch area 300 can be determined as a touch signal (as shown in FIG. 6(c)). In this way, the user can cancel the invalid touch operation area 310 according to the requirement when the touch panel 110 is operated, thereby increasing the convenience when the touch panel 110 is operated.

Based on the above, the electronic device 100 detects the location of the contact area to determine whether the touch event is located in the invalid touch operation area. When the touch event is located in the invalid touch operation area, the electronic device 100 disables the corresponding event trigger function, and when the touch event is not located in the invalid touch operation area, the electronic device 100 triggers the corresponding operation event. Thereby, the user can use the electronic device 100 in accordance with personal habits. For example, when the user performs a hand-drawn function or a note function, etc. In the application, the palm can be placed on the invalid touch operation area of the touch panel, and the electronic device 100 does not trigger the touch event in the invalid touch operation area. In addition, the user can adjust the size and position of the invalid touch operation area according to the personal usage habits to meet the needs of the operation. As a result, the electronic device 100 can provide the touch panel 110 to prevent accidental touch, so that the user can perform a touch operation on the invalid touch operation area according to personal operation habits, thereby improving the user's operation when the touch panel 110 is operated. Convenience.

However, the implementation of FIG. 2A should not be limited to the above description. For example, in other embodiments, the processing unit 120 obtains the location information of the pre-defined invalid touch operation area on the touch panel 110 in step S202, and transmits the location information to the touch panel interface circuit 115. The touch panel interface circuit 115 can determine whether to ignore the touch signal of the touch event according to the location information provided by the processing unit 120. In step S204, the touch panel interface circuit 115 detects a touch event of the touch panel 110. In step S206, the touch panel interface circuit 115 determines whether the touch position of the touch event in the touch panel 110 is located in the invalid touch operation area.

When the contact position is in the invalid touch operation area, the touch panel interface circuit 115 proceeds to step S208. In step S208, the touch panel interface circuit 115 ignores the touch signal of the touch event in the invalid touch operation area according to the position information, that is, does not transmit the touch signal in the invalid touch operation area to the touch signal. Processing unit 120. Therefore, the event trigger function corresponding to the contact position can be disabled.

When the contact position is not located in the invalid touch operation area, the touch panel interface circuit 115 proceeds to step S210. In step S210, the touch panel interface circuit The touch signal of the touch event is provided to the processing unit 120. Therefore, the processing unit 120 can trigger an operation event corresponding to the contact location.

FIG. 7 is a flow chart of a method for operating a touch panel according to a second embodiment of the present invention. The embodiment shown in FIG. 7 can be analogized with reference to the related description of FIG. 1, FIG. 2B, FIG. 3, FIG. 4, FIG. 5 and/or FIG. This embodiment is a further application of the first embodiment, and is still described herein in conjunction with the electronic device 100 of FIG. The operation method of the embodiment is similar to that of the first embodiment, and the difference is that the processing unit 120 of the embodiment obtains the location information of the invalid touch operation area on the touch panel in advance. The touch panel can receive the touch signal in the invalid touch operation area, so that the event trigger function in the touch operation area is disabled.

Referring to FIG. 7 , in step S702 , the processing unit 120 obtains location information of the invalid touch operation area on the touch panel 110 . For example, the user can pre-set the position coordinates of the invalid touch operation area on the touch panel 110, and the parameter values such as the size or shape of the invalid touch operation area, and the processing unit 120 can read these parameters. The value is used to obtain the location information of the invalid touch operation area on the touch panel 110.

In step S704, the processing unit 120 disables the touch panel interface 115 to receive the touch signal of the touch event in the invalid touch operation area according to the location information, thereby defining part of the touch area of the touch panel 110 to be invalid. Touch operation area. For example, the processing unit 120 can disable the touch panel interface circuit 115 to detect the touch signal in the invalid touch operation area, so that the touch panel interface circuit 115 cannot receive the touch signal in the invalid touch operation area. Therefore, when a touch event occurs When the control panel 110 has an invalid touch operation area, the touch panel interface circuit 115 cannot detect the touch signal of the touch event.

In step S706, the processing unit 120 detects the touch event of the touch panel 110 through the touch panel interface circuit 115. Then, in step S708, when the touch panel interface circuit 115 detects the touch event of the touch panel 110, the processing unit 120 triggers an operation event corresponding to the contact position. The touch panel 110 can detect the touch signal when the touch event is located outside the invalid touch operation area of the touch panel 110. The processing unit 120 is located when the touch event is outside the invalid touch operation area of the touch panel 110. The operation event corresponding to the contact position can be triggered according to the touch signal.

On the other hand, when the touch event occurs on the touch panel 110, if the touch panel interface 115 does not detect the touch event of the touch panel 110, the touch event is located in the invalid touch operation area. . At this time, since the processing unit 120 has turned off the touch panel interface circuit 115 to detect the touch signal in the invalid touch operation area according to the location information of the invalid touch operation area, the touch event is in the touch panel. The contact position in the 110 is the touch signal that the touch panel interface circuit 115 cannot receive the touch event when the touch operation area is invalid. In this way, for the touch operation of the user on the invalid touch operation area, the processing unit 120 cannot trigger the event trigger function corresponding to the touch operation according to the touch signal.

It is worth mentioning that the embodiment can also operate the invalid touch operation area through a specific button. For example, the processing unit 120 of the embodiment may divide the invalid touch operation area on the touch panel 110 according to a specific button. Wherein, when the button is pressed, the processing unit 120 can divide the area on the touch panel 110. The domain is an invalid touch operation area, so that the touch panel 110 cannot receive the touch signal in the invalid touch operation area. In addition, the processing unit 120 can also cancel the invalid touch operation area on the touch panel 110 according to another specific button, so that the part of the touch area that is divided into the invalid touch operation area is restored, and the function of detecting the touch signal is resumed. . Therefore, when the button is pressed, the entire touch area on the touch panel 110 can receive the touch signal, and the processing unit 120 can trigger the operation event on the touch panel 110 according to the touch signal. Of course, the processing unit 120 of the embodiment can also change the size and location of the invalid touch operation area by reading another location information.
