A topical formulation of claim 18, which additionally comprises salicylic acid in the range of 0.4-0.6% w/w. A top formulation according to claim 18, wherein the formulation is in the form of a shampoo. A method for treating or preventing psoriasis comprising the steps of simultaneously or separately administering a topical formulation of a scalp lotion and a topical formulation in the form of a shampoo comprising at least two extracts selected from the group consisting of Rhubarb root extract, wood blue extract (green barley), sassafras bark extract, purslane extract, angelica root extract, and sapindus fruit extract; and panthenol (vitamin B5) and shea butter (Snow saponin) and a cosmetically acceptable carrier, and the topical formulation in the form of a shampoo comprises sapindus fruit extract, zinc pyrithione, optionally salicylic acid, and a cosmetically acceptable carrier. The method of claim 24, wherein the shampoo additionally comprises salicylic acid. The method of claim 25, wherein the shampoo additionally comprises at least 0.3% w/w salicylic acid. The method of claim 25, wherein the shampoo additionally comprises salicylic acid in the range of 0.4-0.6% w/w.
