Abstract
A method for preparing a cellulose acetate is provided. The method includes providing a cellulose, adding acetic acid to activate the cellulose, esterifying the cellulose by adding acetic anhydride and sulfuric acid to form a cellulose triacetate, neutralizing sulfuric acid, and hydrolyzing the cellulose triacetate by adding aminosulfuric acid or salt thereof to form a cellulose acetate. The method further includes precipitating, washing, filtering and drying after hydrolyzing.
