Abstract

A slide fastener (1) having a water-proof structure, provided with: fastener stringers (2) having fastener elements (3) arranged in rows along mutually facing edges (11) of a pair of fastener tapes (10); a slider (7) for engaging and disengaging the fastener elements (3) with and from each other; and a lower stop (4) provided at the lower ends of the rows of the fastener elements (3) so as to bridge both the fastener tapes (10). The fastener elements (3) are each provided with an engagement head section (31), a neck section (32), a base section (33), and a pair of shoulder sections (34). The lower stop (4) is interconnected and integrated with the lowermost fastener element (3a) and is provided with a recess (42) for exposing a region (14) which is located between the lowermost fastener element (3a) and the lower stop (4) and in which end surfaces (11a) of the fastener tapes (10) are pressed to each other. A part of the engagement head section (31) of the lowermost fastener element (3a) is contained within the recess (42).
