Abstract

This invention is a cooling device of an expansion board. It is applicable to an expansion board of a high energy density electronic product. It mainly comprises a heat-dissipating fin and an axial flow fan. The heat-dissipating fin is produced by an aluminum extrusion molding process; furthermore, there are multiple cooling blades lined up in parallel on its top. The bottom of the heat-dissipating fin is adhered on top of at least one main heat source on the expansion board. Moreover, a dent is disposed in the multiple cooling blades for securing the axial flow fan, and at least one side surrounding the dent has an opening corresponding to at least a secondary heat source on the expansion board. The axial flow fan is installed fixedly at a tilted angle in the dent of the cooling blades, such that the air flow generated by the axial flow fan can forcefully circulate the air between the parallel disposed cooling blades in order to remove heat. Furthermore, the titled angle also allows part of the forced air flow to be directed to the secondary heat source on the expansion board via the side opening of the dent. Finally, it can increase the range and flow direction of the forced air generated by the axial flow fan, resulting in increased cooling effect of this cooling device and lowering its cost.
