Abstract

This invention relates to a gas-discharge lamp with a lamp bulb (10), which is filled with a filling gas, said filling gas is in a cold filling pressure and composed of a rare gas or a rare gas mixture, especially xenon, and two tungsten-electrodes (12a, 12b) are arranged within the lamp bulb (10) to generate an arc discharge, wherein a halogen compound is added into the filling gas. This invention also relates to a method for the production of a gas-discharge lamp, in which two tungsten-electrodes (12a, 12b) that are used to generate an arc discharge are arranged within a lamp bulb (10) and the lamp bulb (10) is filled with a filling gas, which is in a cold filling pressure and composed of a rare gas or a rare gas mixture, wherein a halogen compound is added to the filling gas.
