Abstract

A thread delivery apparatus (1) for tension-controlled thread-feeding comprises an adaptive controller for the control of its drive motor (7). The adaptive controller controls the drive motor (7) in accordance with the thread tension detected by a thread tension sensor (12). An adjustment module (16) is provided to determine - in a test - the flexibility of the thread (2) and to set the control parameters of the controller accordingly. This applies, in particular, to the D-section of the controller, however, may also apply to the P-section and/or the U-section. Consequently, the thread delivery apparatus adapts automatically to various conditions of use.
