Abstract

The present invention is to realize high luminance uniformity and color uniformity in a front direction in a direct type surface light source device by using point light source device, i.e. LED, to enhance color rendition without performing strict position alignment with other components of the surface light source. The surface light source used to solve the aforementioned subject includes a light control component having a first light control part formed by a plurality of rising portions 1 and a second light control part formed by a plurality of rising portions 2. The surface light source device is characterized in that a one-cycle lengths of the point light source in the X-axis direction and Y-axis direction are set to be D1 and D2 respectively, the distances from the point light source to the first light control part and the second light control part are set to be H1 and H2 respectively, any randomly selected coordinates of position with respect to an origin at the center position of the point light source in the X-axis direction and Y-axis direction are set to be X and Y respectively, the ratios of the minimum and maximum for three-cycle component of the light intensity of the light irradiated to the first light control part and transmitted toward the positive direction of X and the light irradiated to the first light control part and transmitted toward the positive direction of Y are set to be more than 0.8, the shapes of the cross-sections of the rising portions 1 are constituted by regions with different tilt angles represented with D1, H1 and X, and the shapes of the cross-sections of the rising portions 2 are constituted by regions with different tilt angles represented with D2, H2 and Y.
