Abstract

The present invention provides an image-type traffic parameter automatic detection system, which comprises an image input unit and a traffic parameter abstraction unit; wherein, the image input unit is continuously capturing digital images, and transmitting the digital images to the traffic parameter abstraction unit for processing, in which, the edge detection is first conducted on a series of original digital images through the edge detection module; then, the obtained edge binary diagram is sent to the background update module for learning. After the completion of learning, the motion detection module 23 is employed to abstract the portion of moving objects; then, the shade removing and the connected component labeling method are conducted; finally, the block merge module, the vehicle tracking module, and the traffic parameter abstraction module are conducted; and, after precisely abstracting the traffic parameters, the traffic parameters are returned to the monitor center.
