Abstract

A stereoscopic image display includes a display panel, a parallax optic, and a brightness control element. The parallax optic is arranged adjacent to one side of the display panel to create a right-eye and a left-eye viewing zones for an observer on the display panel. The brightness control element is arranged in the line of sight of the observer toward the display panel and provided with a first and a second light-transmitting regions that are distributed respectively corresponding to the right-eye and left-eye viewing zones, with the first and second light-transmitting regions having light transmittances different to each other.
