Abstract
A butterfly valve that improves a condensation prevention effect of an actuator, whose costs are reduced by reducing the amount of processing of a valve body and simplifying production of the valve body, and whose convenience and usability are improved by facilitating maintenance work and work of a connection between the valve and a piping flange. The butterfly valve is of center pivoted type. A seat ring constructed from an elastic sealing member is installed in the valve body in which a circular cylindrical flow path is formed in a penetrating manner. A disc-like valve member is supported in the valve body by a valve rod placed extending from the valve body in its radial direction, and the valve member is supported such that its peripheral edge can come into contact with and separate from the seat ring. The rotation axis of the valve rod is on substantially the center line of the valve member. The valve rod extending radially outward from the valve body is extended to the outer periphery of the valve body, an installation plate on which the actuator is placed and fixed is supported by at least two support arms, and the support arms are not in contact with the valve rod to provide space surrounded by the outer periphery of the valve body, the installation plate, and the support arms.
