Abstract

In the yarn feeder according to the invention, the yarn intake eyelet serves as yarn rupture sensor. This is made possible by movably supporting the yarn intake eyelet and by providing that it fulfills in all its positions its function which consists in guiding the yarn (15) in a controlled manner into the yarn intake region (16). The yarn intake eyelet is preferably the only element which touches the yarn between the yarn brake and the yarn feed wheel. The yarn guiding eyelet is in its shutoff position accessible at the end face of the yarn feeder. The threading-in of the yarn is feasible with one hand.
