Abstract

Disclosed is a system of using discrete wavelet transformation to process images, primarily comprises an image scanning unit, two (two-dimensional) or four (three-dimensional) line conversion units, two line multiplication units, two row conversion units, two row multiplication units, a (three-dimensional) time conversion unit, and a memory unit. The image scanning unit does partial or complete matrix scan of the 2D or 3D image using two-input Z scan. Both of the line and row conversion units have several folding structures, and every unit has a filter set, and discrete wavelet transformation is used to operate the scanned line data to gain different data on frequency bands. The high frequency and low frequency data outputted by the line and low conversion units are operated respectively by using the common line multiplication unit and row multiplication unit, effectively reducing the use of the multiplier.
