Abstract

A controlling apparatus for booting a micro control unit includes a reset circuit, a detecting circuit, and a time delay buffer. The micro control unit includes a reset pin, and a detecting pin. The reset circuit generates a reset signal to the reset pin. The detecting circuit generates a detecting signal to the time delay buffer to be delayed. Then the time delay buffer transmits the detecting signal to the detecting pin. When the detect pin receives a reset signal and the detect pin receives a detect signal with a low level, the micro control unit is warm booted. When the detecting pin receives a reset signal and the detect pin receives a detecting signal with a high level, the micro control unit is cold booted.
