Abstract

The present invention relates to a group cable distribution system capable of locating cable assembly and a method thereof. The system includes: a hub of a circuit server system electrically connected to a distribution frame including a plurality of cable assembly, a plurality of remote receptacles and a testing power device in a sequential manner. The receptacles of the cable assembly have two contacts coupled to an illumination device and a filter device and is electrically connected to the corresponding remote receptacle to form a cable assembly; the testing power device may apply a test voltage to the contact of the remote receptacle so as to illuminate the illumination device of the receptacle of the corresponding cable assembly; the test voltage is a low frequency voltage signal and is significantly attenuated and filtered out when passing through a transformer inside the hub, thereby preventing the cable assembly from getting short-circuited and normally operating the illumination device. Therefore, the server system may retain its connected status while locating and identifying a cable assembly without dismantling the server system in advance; accordingly, the operational efficiency is improved, and the labor and time are saved.
