Abstract

The present invention provides a light guide plate and a backlight module using the same. The light guide plate includes a light input surface and a light output surface adjoining the light input surface. The light output surface defines a first section adjacent to the light input surface and a second section connecting the first section far away from the light input surface. A plurality of V-shaped projections is regularly disposed on the second section extending along a direction perpendicular to the light input surface. A plurality of pyramids is regularly arranged on the first section. Each pyramid has a side surface disposed along a boundary between the first section and second section perpendicular to the light output surface. Height of each pyramid decreases with decreasing the distances from the side surface to the light input surface. The present invention also provides a backlight system using the present light guide plate that can avoid occurring a number of bright or dark interference lines at the light output surface adjacent to the light input surface thereof.
