Abstract

A fuel injector in which the detection of disconnection or abnormality for a solenoid in a fuel injection module is realized by a simple and low price constitution is provided. The fuel injector includes a control unit (6) that generates a solenoid driving signal for controlling the applying of electric current to the solenoid (101) on the basis of the operation condition of a vehicle. The control unit (6) is so constituted to judge the disconnection or abnormality of the solenoid on the basis of an electric current applied to the solenoid at a specific timing during the solenoid is applied with electric current, and to drive a display means (15) for displaying the result of the judgment. Accordingly, a low price device without the need of a circuit exclusively used for the detection of disconnection or abnormality for the solenoid is obtained.
