Abstract

The method includes steps: converting the received analog sound signals to digital sound signals; sampling the digital sound signals and obtaining a plurality of amplitude values; calculating a sound energy value during a predetermined time according to the amplitude values; generating a hearing protection signal when the sound energy value reaches a predetermined value; responding to the hearing protection signal to reduce current gain value automatically or generate visual or audial reminding signals. The present invention also provides a system and a sound output device for protecting hearing, reduces current gain value automatically or generates visual or audial reminding signals when the sound energy reaches a sound energy value a user can endure, so that the user's hearing can be protected.
