Abstract

The present invention provides an image pickup device, an image pickup method, and a program, which eliminate the influence of a hand shake even when the exposure time is relatively long. An exposure control unit 15 in accordance with the present invention comprises an exposure time determination section 31 which determines an exposure time by the existent AE technique according to the luminance of a subject inputted from a luminance detection section 14, a divided time determination section 32 which determines a divided time corresponding to the exposure time determined by the exposure time determination section 3 by referring an exposure time-divided time table held in an exposure time-divided time table memory 33, the exposure time-divided time table memory 33 which holds a plurality of exposure time-divided time tables, and an imaging timing control section 34 which divided the determined exposure time by the divided time to calculate a frequency N of exposure and makes an imaging element 12 perform the exposure operation for the divided time N times. The present invention is applicable to a digital still camera.
