Abstract

The purpose of this invention is to provide a harmful gas-removing apparatus which is capable of making the harmful discharge gas harmless efficiently, with a reduced usage of water. The harmful gas-removing apparatus comprises a circulation-water tank (101) and a neutralization tank (102). In the circulation-water tank (101), the water (18) which has a pH value of 5.0-8.6 is circulated so as to dissolve the discharge gas that contains halogen and is harmful. The residual discharge gas that has not been dissolved in the water (18) is discharged from the circulation-water tank (101). In the neutralization tank (102), the water, which is discharged from the circulation-water tank (101) and contains dissolved discharge gas, is treated with a neutralizing agent under pressurized condition. The treated water from neutralization tank (102) is then returned to the circulation-water tank (101).
