Abstract

The invention comprises a melt filter for the large-area filtration of polymer melts, comprising a substantially cylindrical filter insert (1) which is arranged in a filter housing (2) in the form of a cylindrical tube with connections (3, 4) for the melt inflow and the melt outflow, the filter housing (2) comprising a plurality of components and being of separable design, and a component of the filter housing (2) being designed as the supporting element (2.1) of the melt filter. Furthermore, the invention comprises a melt filter arrangement in the form of a double filter melt filter arrangement in the form of a double filter which substantially comprises two of the aforementioned melt filters.
